1) Does anybody really believe that Cooley is opening up his practices to parents of players?

I don’t know the answer to #1, but what happens if Cooley doesn’t play Caleb as much as his father believes he should play? There’s precedent.

It would seem like an odd thing to lie about given how easy it would be to verify who is at/is not at a practice. What are these summer practices anyway? Are the coaches allotted a certain period when they can work with the players? I know the old rules about not practicing until the specific date in October is no longer a thing (the former Midnight Madness dates) and they start earlier. But, I don't know what the rules are about summer?

Aside from his jousting with Internet trolls:

1. "Talent upgrade from last year jumps out at you right away. The plan is coming together."
2. "They are working together. Great energy. Pushing each other. Getting better everyday."
3. "Sorber isn’t quite ready physically being a frosh but he’s going to be REALLY good. That being said, everyone in the building knows we need a 5. Even if we only get someone who’s just a body, we have enough right now to play “small ball” with tempo & toughness to turn the corner."
4. "Thanks, but I’m by no means an insider. I have way too much respect for what all those men & women are doing “inside” of the program to turn it around. I’m just blessed to be affiliated with it through my son so I’m invested in its success. We as a fanbase are a big part of that."

For those not in the know, this poster is Caleb Williams' father.

Do you think it's a good idea for parents to be sitting in on high major college basketball practices?

The language and maturity level that he shows in his "jousting" is alarming, IMO. I really hope Cooley knew what he was getting into when he recruited this guy's kid. His older sons transferred multiple times during their college basketball careers. If Cooley is letting this guy into his practices, SMH.

Is this board really a good support of Georgetown University if a poster is allowed to make repeated character attacks on the parent of a recruit over and over again with no repercussion whatsoever?

I’ve only posted what the person has put on X, which is a much more public forum than this one. He has claimed to be in practices and has reported on what he claims to have seen. He then uses what can only be viewed as alarming language in his public interactions with other X users. That is not a character attack. That is showing what somebody purportedly close to the program is saying publicly.

Generally, no. Once in a while (especially for a summer practice), I don't think it's a big deal. I am sure this isn't the first time.

I thought it was a solid interview, like the fact that he acknowledged the Epps/Mack duo will be undersized defensively so it’ll be important for them to lock in defensively

Why? It’s an on-going process and the staff is involved.
How about a question re: international recruiter on staff?
