last year to start season We ended at 275. Not sure where it was to start the season. There is no such thing as a pre season RPI ranking. It is based only on games actually played.

Kempom to start last season , we are #88 this year to start We started the 2023-2024 season on KenPom at 163. I believe KenPom weighs negatively for coaching changes (no matter what the change), so that would in part explain why we are ranked better this year.

In case the embedded link does not appear below, here is a copy/paste from hoyasrising (the NIL collective): http://instagram.com/p/DBMm_DuPxY2 Good to see Georgetown is beginning to step up the PR game, even if it is a bit late.

Do you think any students know (or even understand) the sly reference of naming it Red Square?

Do you think any students know (or even understand) the sly reference of naming it Red Square? There is a reason we have a School of Foreign Service!

About 200 attending open practice. Taking copious notes I hope Full disclosure - I'm not there, stuck in Delaware on personal business, but have one of my Cap One seatmates there and asked him to provide a report. Let's see if he does!

From what I heard it was very very good in terms of how the team is looking compared to last year especially Fielder and Sorber. Julius and Seal didn't suit up

The report from my seatmate, was with Rich Chvotkin.
"Blue and grey teams. Better defense everywhere. NZ guy in right foot boot; Burks from KY played well; Mack very good; Fielder foot work very good; outside shooting better; Sorber good size

I did not see today’s event, but I was reflecting on the Media Day info. I am getting cautiously optimistic about the season’s prospects. I think we will be better than bottom 2. How much better ? I don’t know.
Mack, Epps, Peavy, and Sorber (if healthy) are very good players. I have to think their floor is higher than the bottom of the conference.

Just to echo what that person was saying, Heard Caleb and Kayvaun hit a bunch of open 3s when they got them on good ball movement in both transition and half court.

I too was very impressed today with Fielder and Mack, thought Mack and Jayden played well together. Also Burks on defense, made his guy repeatedly give the ball up. Cooley exclusively coached the Blue team, which to me looked like the starters as of today: Mack, Epps, Sorber, Peavy, Burks.
I was also impressed with the very specific teaching that Cooley was doing during drills pre-scrimmage. A fun day.
