Shout out to the S&C coaching. They got Drew and Jayden transformed since April. Fielder looks much stronger and Epps shed all that pudginess. Looks like a rock now.

Fielder gained 30 lbs. Beast! He looks great. Agree he looks great. Not sure you can put 30 lbs of 'good weight' on in a short period of time.

Fortunately he didn't look like Josh Smith so at least from the videos and pictures it looks like good weight. Also didn't truly look like 30 lbs but height and weight doesn't always seem accurate. Either way he looks good early on and looks like he hit the S&C over the time off.

Was this inside info provided directly to you, blueandgray? Actually that’s a stupid question. The program doesn’t release info like that unless they are updating roster stuff for the upcoming season.

Fielder gained 30 lbs. Beast! He looks great. It reminds me of how Ewing made a huge change between the end of his freshman season and the start of his sophomore season. He looked like he was carved out of granite

My guess is EC offered up this info at a fundraiser since that’s the only way to get info out of this program. J/k

Hoping all of these reports about S&C improvements are actually true. IMO, it's been one of the biggest weaknesses for this program over the last few seasons. Guys getting consistently pushed around and outworked. Others not running back in transition (whether it's fatigue or effort level, doesn't matter).
Every season we see a summer workout video and everyone gets praised for supposedly putting in the work. It hasn't reflected in the results and what we see on the court. S&C still has a long way to go before they've proven they can get the job done, at least in my view.

Well this is the first full year for this S&C staff so I don't think you lay the past failures on them. This is Ed's guy from Providence.

I just caution people to not assume S&C is no longer a concern or "fixed" simply based on a social media post and maybe some second-hand anecdotes. Need to see it successfully translated on the court in real game play first.

"If you didn’t see the tweets the other week, Ed Cooley and your Georgetown Hoyas are reportedly scheduling Mount St. Mary’s and St. Francis as part of the second iteration of the “Georgetown MTE.” While there was hope from the fanbase that the Hoyas may get an invite to an early tournament this season, the possibility of GU joining any Feast Week festivities appears to have withered on the vine. Adding Mount St. Mary’s (KenPom rank 249) and St. Francis (354) does not inspire fan confidence that Georgetown will perform much better than last year’s KenPom ranking of 192... While the roster may not be complete yet, preseason expectations unfortunately follow scheduling matchup hype (or lack there of). Adding early wins could help with team chemistry, but scheduling even just a bit better competition may boost NET if a program were expecting to be near the tournament bubble. Moreover, potentially losing to teams of this caliber early in the season, can send a team and fanbase into a tailspin. Why add unnecessary drama? Scheduling these two as an MTE, instead of traveling to face multiple Power 5 programs, feels like a lose-lose proposition even if the Hoyas win each by 20 points. Unfortunately, this MTE scheduling news seems to confirm fan concerns of another potential year of sub-mediocre product on the floor... Any May momentum has all but faded for the Hoyas. With no men’s basketball news coming from the Thompson Center in weeks, the level of competition in this MTE speaks even louder than normal. Apathy is making a stronger case each day. Whispers from insiders that Georgetown would soon add a center and/or a potential ‘25 recruit seem in doubt. Are there any legitimate 15-mpg bigs available? Did Cooley aim too high with the transfer portal and miss out on solid options?" www.casualhoya.com/2024/6/12/24166464/saintly-scheduling-georgetown-expected-to-host-mount-st-marys-and-st-francis-in-mte-big-east

Baffles me that people still think the program is relevant. 2 years and $30mm more away.
