The Hunter Dickinson recruitment is what I'd define as crazy. How many transfer recruitments have there been at that level? Would you consider Malik Mack's recruitment "crazy"? His frosh numbers are better than Morant's The bottom line imho is that Morant wouldn't have been viewed as a game changer after his frosh season. And with that one statement, the value of your humble opinion just plummeted. Any notion that a trained eye couldn’t have seen the value of Ja Morant after his Freshman year ridic. Be fair Seaweed, no one outside of Murray State & its conference peers knew anything about Ja Morant during or after his freshman year. His Sophomore season surprised all, In similar ways to how much Otto's soph year surprised most if not all Gtown fans. |

Ja nearly doubled every stat from fresh to soph yr and his 3pt % jumped on more shot attempts.....no one saw that coming that wasn't associated with Murry St or at least in the conference....I knew Otto was going to make a jump when he took the last shot against NC St in the tourney. It would have been real easy to pass to Big Hank but he wasn't afraid of the moment. That spoke volumes to me. |

Etomic, there are players with less evident gifts that are known by the big colleges every year at this time for portal season. Coaches keep up with this stuff or have folks out there who will inform them about possible hidden gems all the time now. Often it’s the players own people who will put out the word. |

I don't disagree with any of this and acknowledge he would have suitors. The conversation started after you responded to a post about the Brea kid from Dayton being recruited by 5 blue bloods. You posted that Morant would not have gotten to his 2nd year @ Murray State if he were in college today. I thought you thought he'd be chased by many of the blue bloods too if he were available which I disagree with based primarily on the numbers he put up. |
