I wouldn't be surprised at all to see the BE go for St. Louis, to add another team out in the Mid-West.

Maybe Georgetown should be evaluating its options as well…

Maybe Georgetown should be evaluating its options as well… Asking this sincerely what would be our other options besides staying in the Big East and continue to maintain/build a conference focused on basketball and not football?

ACC? B10 basketball only? I’d rather try to be with other premier programs than backfill with a Dayton or VCU and sit on our hands.

UConn and big east conference
If UConn leaves big east the conference better get Gonzaga or some good basketball program or it might not survive.DePaul and Hoyas being irrelevant and pitino leaving in 3-4 years another bad team St. John’s nobody will watch the games.
Moderator Note: This post and about 4 replies were moved from a separate thread to this one where ongoing discussion about UConn staying or leaving the BE was already ongoing.

We've been a shadow of our former selves for a decade. What's in it for them? B10 would laugh at us, a non-FBS school for basketball only? That makes zero sense. ACC? Notre Dame is the only partial member, right? That's not exactly a comp since it at least has FBS football even if not regularly on the ACC schedule.

The ACC will not be constituted as it is for much longer — once UNC and/or Clemson leaves.
Then it will look very 2003 Big East. We would resume rivalries with Syracuse and others, and get the ACC back in the DMV.
Coach K has already suggested the new look ACC should refocus on basketball partnership with the Big East.
Further, the makeup of schools in the ACC more closely aligns from an academic and endowment perspective. Jesuit ties only carry so far.
