Gets to be like Groundhog Day....Every year the Hoya women are disrespected early and forced to work their way up the rankings. Same old, same old....

That's gonna be one miserable plane flight back from Chicago. A single mistake can sink you, and in this case, it did. Hopefully the lesson, while painful, proves instructive.

Hoyas and X-Women both take care of business on the road, albeit much more comfortably for the Muskies. Tremendous save by Anna Karpenko in the 90th minute to preserve the win.
Three conference games left. Hoyas will be heavy favorites at home against Marquette and only slightly less heavy favorites on the road at Villanova. Xavier gets a home date against Providence and a trip to Marquette - heavy favorites in both. It would be great if they were to drop points while the Hoyas win out, but as it stands, it looks like the All Hallows' Eve showdown will be for the #1 seed, but Georgetown will be co-regular season champs at best.

The Hoyas easily dispatching Marquette was as expected. What was NOT at all expected was Providence coming into Cincinnati and knocking off the X-Women. Sam Lopes is a very good coach and his teams are plenty tough, but I did not see this one coming.
It's now looking very likely that Georgetown and Xavier will have identical conference records when they face off on Halloween with the regular season title on the line.
At the moment, Xavier would hold the tiebreaker for the #1 seed based on their win over/Hoyas draw with Butler, the #3 team. But given the logjam on the middle of the standings, a lot could change there.
