Great move. Guaranteed win. Think my old student ID will get me in?
Odds this stops the “Cooley’s not doing enough” bashing? Slim and the nun just left town

Hope it goes better than the one in the fall of ‘81… Suffered the exact same injury as Dalton in April 1981 in a Navy training accident except the nerve damage in my leg eventually healed. I sat near him at a Big East Tournament game years later at MSG and chatted briefly about our respective knee reconstructions. Nice guy.

Hope it goes better than the one in the fall of ‘81… Do tell … Dalton's career nearly ended before it began. In November 1981, making his debut at the Blue-Gray Game, a scrimmage held annually through the 1980's, Dalton's knee gave way at mid-court, just a few minutes into the contest. The injury silenced the 4,000 in attendance, and destroyed much of Dalton's knee and corresponding nerve tissue. The injury not only cost him the 1981-82 season, but it was so severe it was studied in medical journals. After a nine month recovery Dalton was forced to wear a metal brace and a special boot just to stand. www.hoyabasketball.com/players/r_dalton.htm#:~:text=En%20route%20to%20becoming%20the,that%20season%20were%20career%20highs.

So much we don't know about the scrimmage to make pronouncements about Epps and the team or judgments about the season ahead. A few things to consider: 1) if this were a year ago, most of us would be pretty excited at the prospects for the season; and 2) Cooley isn't one to let his players go off like this, but he does let a hot hand shoot. 3) Maybe Wake wasn't playing real intense D. Adding up shots, Epps took 35 shots. If I'm not way off on this, college teams generally take about 55-65 shots in a game, and that would mean that Epps took well over half the attempted shots for our entire team (qualifier: we don't have stats from the scrimmage to be exact on this number). Not sure I like that, but I do trust Cooley to have us playing as a team. Also, we've mentioned it here in HoyaTalk that he also is no fan of ISO or hero ball. So the guy goes off for 46 points in the first scrimmage -- let's be happy for him and glad we won. (Can't imagine what we'd be doing if they lost.)

That's what that tweet means.

That's more impressive that they won the scrimmage with no Heath even though Wake's best player didn't play either.
