Something that occurred to me. ..both Fielder and Sorber are plus passers. If they were to play 4/5 together, that skill should translate to feeding the post..with the size to see over the defense. Or they could feed the 3-pt shooters… Yes, but that occurred to me long ago. Feeding the post from 6'10" hits a bit different.

Drquigley I truly am just curious on your thoughts,Cook averaged 10pts 8 rebs .5 blocks a game shooting 58%, what would you predict for Sorber in his first year? I’m saying 14pts 8rebs 1.5 blocks a game while shooting mid 50%. I doubt he will get as much pt as Cook did this year. I would guess 5-6 points and rebounds per game but more blocks than Cook simply because of his greater size and longer arms. But all bets are off if Cooley plays him more in OOC games and if a Sorber/Fielder front court generates more offense than last year.

If you look in the live video 19:10, I mean come on 6'10 with that kinda vision and setting it up with the no look, left handed bounce pass. I don't care who you do that against, it's impressive.

Adding a ball moving big is going to be multiplicative to this roster. Fielder can be a ball mover too.

Finally found a good video of that pass in the 1st round that was jaw dropping. Its at 2:50. Just so when I said he had Greg like passing instincts this is the proof.

Can’t wait….and when I say that I mean to watch him come in a freshman and make freshman mistakes…not be the Ewing reincarnate. He will be entertaining to watch grow. He looks to me to have game and a high ceiling. Hopefully, unlike Aminu he will actually accomplish something as a Hoya.

Imhotep did a good job at double and triple-teaming him and also crowding his space when he got the ball.

Thomas Sorber was the MVP today at the Capital Classic. Here are links to his post game press conference. I really cannot wait to see Sorber in a Georgetown uniform.

Watching Sorber at the Capital Classic was a huge joy. I don't remember the last time the Hoyas have had a player this fluid, long, and athletic. Sorber's play around the basket on offense is really good with putbacks and shots, but revese lay up, baseline drives, great quick passes out of the middle to wide open shooters when doubled or just see them wide open, insanely good drop and bounce passes to cutters in the lane, receiving similar and good soft hand to catch the ball and make a positive move with it. I had watched some games on video, but was not expecting a fluid and agile long 6'9" to 6'10" player who could shoot threes well and get scrappy on defense to get the ball and defending the rim really well.
Sorber's loss of 20 pound from the year prior doesn't leave him with a power body, but he has more upper body muscle than an five mintue clip of a game from early this season that was posted. His build reminds me of the many long Kentucky players over the last 10 to 15 years who played stretch 4 roles and some UNC players.
Season starts when?
