After watching the Hoyas take out St. John's Saturday night, I decided to take my family down to Mohegan Sun from the Boston area yesterday and see this story in person (plus check out Paige Bueckers and UConn). The game was so fun to see up close and personal, especially when most of the fans cleared out after the UConn game, leaving only women's hoop diehards (quite a few of those in Connecticut), maybe 200 Creighton fans (boy were they sore), and a smattering of Georgetown fans (I would guess fewer than 50 total). My daughters are 10 and 12 and getting into basketball, so they loved being able to root for Georgetown from 4 rows back and subtly antagonize the Creighton folks sitting in the next section over. The toughness and spirit of the team was contagious, and going up against a semi-hostile crowd complaining about physical play brought back some good memories. The worst part of the game was obviously the Scott injury - the arena was dead quiet other than her pained moans. The best part was collecting kudos and high fives from the UConn fans after the game in my blue and gray attire - I was far too embarrassed to admit it had been my first ever Georgetown women's game, but hoping it won't be my last. Sadly, I won't be able to make the finals tonight, and seems like a massive upset is the only way the Hoyas make the dance, but still a great memory from a wonderful season of women's basketball.

Rough start. Long shot just got a lot longer.

Hit the wall against UConn, but so what? A big tip of the hat for a great season to the women and the coach. Has he had the interim tag removed yet?

What a great run and a great way to honor Coach Butts. Well done. As a side note, the lady Hoyas were 6th in the country in team defense ( talk about "want to" ), while our men were 320th
