Hoping for a few Reggie Williams level talents in the not too distant future!

Penn State (15-16, 9-11) had five players score in double figures, with forward Qudus Wahab collecting 19 points and 15 rebounds. The graduate transfer from Georgetown, who also played one season in College Park, shot 7 for 10. Senior guard Ace Baldwin Jr. added 17 points and 11 assists. Baldwin, a candidate for Big Ten defensive player of the year, also played a significant role in limiting Young to 4-for-14 shooting, including 0 for 5 on three-pointers. www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2024/03/10/maryland-penn-state/

Jordan Riley with 16 points and 10 rebounds yesterday for Temple in their upset win over Florida Atlantic. Temple now plays for an insanely unlikely auto-bid for the NCAAs.

If only we could find another great game manager like Joey Brown. My question is this…would he even be appreciated today?

It was clear to anyone with two eyes that Riley had great potential if just given some decent coaching and the chance to learn on the job. Ewing had no eyes and wasn’t a good coach.

Georgetown and the level of competition in the Big East may not have been a great fit for his development. The competition was too fierce and Georgetown was too weak to have the luxury of developmental minutes. The Hoyas have been desperately chasing wins for 4 years and are unable to really invest in anyone’s development. I tell some of my mentees that sometimes fit is everything. Put a great leader in the wrong fit and he has a good chance of failing. Put someone where they fit and they can be amazingly successful. Looks like Jordan is finally in a place where he could blossom. He clearly always had the potential.

On a well run program guys like Riley and Holloway would have been big contributors by their Junior/Senior years. But you're right. No real effort to develop anyone during Ewing years.

Now, he was not a great shooter, but was a four year very steady PG. Also, keep an eye on his son ... and the reason Joey is coaching U15. Kid has all of the talent and work ethic of his father ... and his father is his coach.

I don’t think the effort was there because Ewing had to do everything possible to eek out a win, That is not a great situation for unfinished projects.
