As someone who has followed the Pac 12 and its earlier iterations going all the way back to the Pacific Coast Conference, and being a Bruin fan all that time, I find this news shocking and depressing.
And by the way, Bill Walton didn't invent that Conference of Champions stuff. They happen to have that moniker because the Pac 12 schools have won more college national championships than any other conference. Of course, it's not just football and basketball. I believe Stanford and UCLA are currently 1-2.

And a dissenting view on Oregon and Washington leaving the Pac-12:

“At this time” is the key phrase. A lot will happen between now and 2024

Kansas and Creighton would be good adds, maybe not for the Hoyas. 🤣

We're going to end up with two conferences - the Union and the Confederacy.

there’s a popular way to run a program(see below) and then there’s the Gtown way…
Napolillo began his career at PC in 2004 as assistant director of athletic relations, where he rose through the ranks to director of athletic development, then to associate athletic director for external relations, and finally senior associate athletic director/assistant vice president for external relations, a position he has held at the College since 2014. He also has held the position of men's basketball administrator for the past three seasons. [/b]

At least they admit that our roster has some real talent.

At least they admit that our roster has some real talent. And, yet, 10th place. I wonder where the deficiency is?

Well, what the article suggests is that it is very difficult to predict what will happen with so many new pieces.

Well, what the article suggests is that it is very difficult to predict what will happen with so many new pieces. Yeah, that’s probably the problem. Too many new pieces.

Of note, the article placed Villanova in first place, despite losing a Hall of Fame coach and inserting one who is relatively young and untested. So, if the argument is that the author is placing an emphasis on coaching, I am very dubious of that.

In this case, maybe the unknown carries a premium to the known.

Vill again with a 3 guard lineup? Can't be the coach but the approach to their system. I believe having Wahab in the lineup is mentally good for the team. Imo we should be a much better shooting team and hopefully our 7 footers can do some damage.

We are definitely going to be better. Hard to tell how much better. I’m hoping around 10-10.
