Real sad that I can see how this season unfolds. 7-4 OOC (beat either SoCarolina or Cuse but not both), 6-14 in conference (down year for BE and enough talent we’ll find out way to some wins), first round exit in BE tournament, 13-19 overall with a spin of positive progress from last year. Sigh.

You're wrong, it's clearly apparent that our schedule is too difficult. We should be playing all Division 2 teams. Also, your previous post about the worst Power 6 conference team hasn't aged well, no matter how bad South Carolina is. Furman beats South Carolina 79-60. I stand by my earlier comment that South Carolina is terrible. I'm not disputing that. But to paraphrase Johnny Carson, Ed, how terrible are they? I'm honestly not sure that they are too terrible to beat us.

We put two halves like that together against any division I team - and we almost surely lose.

I don't know that our second half against LaSalle duplicated over two halves beats any Division 1 team, either.

We played two halves of both games. If we play two halves like we played rhe first half against Lasalle there are very few Division 1 teams that could beat us. That is not likely to happen but the only speculation is two halves of our worst basketball and no recognition that we played some pretty good basketball too.

It's impossible to articulate how bad our OOC schedule is this year.
Also this happened:
Watch us beat South Carolina and Syracuse followed by the Thompson/Ewing-first fans claiming it as proof that we're on the right track.

Maybe he can do the Alumni Shootout promo. Rodney Pryor did it today. Sead Dizdarevic was the alumni participant last game.

You're surprised that the ghost of Kobe beat Syracuse? I'm not. Go, Bryant. In addition, no matter how much Syracuse may stink, if we beat them, I will bask in the glow of the game, at least for a while. We should all make a pact to lay off the criticism for at least a few days if we beat Syracuse. That is a result that is always worthy of praise, everything else be damned.

We will always savor a beatdown of Syracuse, but as a Navy vet and fan of Navy football, I do not want the Hoya basketball program to sink to the point where we say "At least we beat Syracuse" as said by some Navy fans whenever we beat Army yet have a dismal season. I fear we are nearing that level of despondent fandom.

And let's face it, beating Syracuse is always better than the alternative, as beating Army is always better than the alternative for Navy.

I had seen a few articles saying that Syracuse is playing more man-to-man this year. For anybody who has seen them, should we expect to see their classic zone, or something else?

I watched a decent amount of the Bryant game yesterday and it was all zone that i saw. They did twice put on a loose press but I wonder if that was more just that they were behind and trying to make a run (which they did)

They did play man to man defense in their exhibition games but I believe they have remained in the zone during the regular season.

A terrible Pitt team (KenPom #122) is destroying Northwestern in Evanston - currently 61-35 with 12 minutes to play.

Pitt who is a horrible 3 PT shooting team to date lit it up. All wide open looks. I turned it off when they were down 47-30 in the second.

Why would Coach B change his MO. What's interesting is some SU guys made it to the NBA without playing any man-to-man (i.e. Carmello (I know it was only a year though)).

And NW also came within a missed last second shot of beating #15 Auburn. /shrug
