Congratulations on your tenth post. I have nothing against “helpful, insightful, insider information” (if you do say so yourself), but it’s just too bad we haven’t heard from you before this Be careful. "lol" isn't allowed around here. They bitch about that too. They even go back to look at all of your comments to analyze your previous thoughts just to make sure you were never happy. Just warning you... If they aren't happy... Can't nobody be happy. Fast twitch expert!

Yes i have some more info haven't you been LISTENING? we need to also hire OSMAN BANGURA! Google him. I can make it happen. Tell someone to email me to hook it up. I'm well connected in the local basketball scene. kevin Durants God Father Taras "Stink" Brown was my coach growing up and mentor. That's how I met Mike Pegues. We played with Ed Sheffey who was a Hoya in 1997, then I started coaching with the PG Jaguars, Seat Pleasant Recand numerous AAU programs. I know everyone. Not bragging just facts. Recruiting is about relationships. I know who this program should go after to be able to keep the talent home. Big Glide energy here You know who else we need? SHERWYN DEVONISH!!! Google him. I can make it happen.

I thought we ended on a good note... you're the one who started up again here (stalker). So I responded. Everyone on this board knows what fast twitch/slow twitch is...we all have educations. We both agreed that Ewing has not brought in enough talent. Let's hope the assistants can get him over that hump and then pray that some type of light goes in Ewing's brain that his strategy on and off the court has not been successful and he needs to change his approach and philosophy quickly. Hopefully Pegues is part of that solution.

Not just 7-11, he took a team that was 5-5 in the ACC and finished 1-9. Their defensive efficiency got much worse after they fired Mack. He’s like the best example from last season that it’s not just about talent, coaching matters. Ehhh personally I think this is a great example of how you can remove context to spin a preferred narrative. 4-5 wins were against the 4 worst teams in the conference. They also lost to Pitt and NC State over that stretch. Both of those teams only won 11 games last year. They played by far the easiest ACC schedule over that first 10 and probably the toughest over that last 10. 5 out of their last 10 were losses against tourney teams. They lost twice to 20 win UVA and once vs a 25 win Wake Forrest team away. The last 2 games over that stretch were a loss to Syracuse away and their one win vs Clemson. On top of all that they played 3 of those 10 without their best player and team captain Malik Williams.

Very smart move by Pegues. We've been turned down by Broadus who stayed at Morgan State rather than make significantly more money at Georgetown. We've been turned down by Kenny Johnson to go to URI and coach for Archie Miller. And now we've been turned down by Mike Pegues to go to Butler to coach for Thad Matta. What does this say about how coaches feel about Patrick Ewing? The only guy we got was Kevin Nickleberry who got fired from Howard and fired from Will Wade's staff at LSU. I really, really hope there aren't Georgetown fans sitting on high horses ever again defending Patrick Ewing, Jack DeGioia and the Thompson legacy.

Smart move for Pegues. Smart move for Matta. Could we or did we not want to outbid them by enough to get him to come to a shakier situation?

All things equal, Butler makes sense for him. Matta is on year one, probably has a 5 year deal. A lot more stable than Georgetown is right now. That said, it sucks that Georgetown couldn't have gotten him off the market by now.

I really, really hope there aren't Georgetown fans sitting on high horses ever again defending Patrick Ewing, Jack DeGioia and the Thompson legacy. I wanted Ewing gone as much as anyone last month, but this is badly spun to suit your point of view. We definitely never offered Johnson, saying he turned us down for URI is silly. Broadus was supposedly a preliminary discussion but never went anywhere, and honestly a head coaching gig is much more prestigious. Do you know for sure he would have made "significantly more money" at Georgetown? It could have been a little more, but that seems embellished. Not to mention most of us didn't want a retread anyway, and Pegues would/should have been a higher priority. Pegues is a loss no doubt. I don't blame him, it's probably a smart move. Matta's future at Butler seems a lot more certain than Ewing's here. Unfortunate. But, let's not exaggerate how many "misses" we've had for this assistant spot. Now, let's please go get Jordan Brooks.

As usual, Hoyaboya acts like he knows everything when he in fact knows nothing...but he will always take a situation and find a way to spin it negatively/anti Ewing to fit his never ending negative narrative...how does he know that we didn't take a pass on Pegues...that in spite of a healthy salary offer he wanted some guarantees as to being "the head coach in waiting", guarantees that we were not prepared to agree to at this time... Admittedly, I would like to have seen him added to the staff, and I think having gone to DeMatha he would have had more recruiting success in the DMV recruiting for Georgetown than for Butler in Indy, and if so, would have put himself in good position to follow PE as Head Coach...obviously, there were discussions/negotiations that hit a snag and for some reason didn't work out...I could be wrong but I think it was largely that rather than him thinking that Butler was a better opportunity and he elected to take that over Georgetown...I agree that Jordan Brooks would be great...

No real way to spin this positively. We offered more $ at a higher profile program with significantly more resources in his backyard.
Agree that Brooks should be next target.
