Not satisfied with moral victories. 👎🏻 Is losing by 20 to St. Johns now a moral victory? Is that how far we have fallen? No, but they did not quit. That’s something, and I mean it. We have problems, but quitting doesn’t seem to be one of them. I wonder if Coach Orr is a positive influence.

At least we kept them under a 20 point margin But I am PO'ed at their TOs. Only 2nd time I have seen the Hoyas this year. We did some good things (not so many) and a lot of bad things. Coming from 20 down to 7 down was my highlight, but the TOs reared its ugly head again.

Georgetown players only have health issues when they play bad. If they play better in the next half or game there was no health issues. Been this way for years. I’m sorry man but that is not true. These guys play hard and have played through injury. Whatever you think of the team this sort of bogus accusation is WAY out of bounds. Seriously, you need to take a look in the mirror and think about if this is who you want to be and whether you shouldn’t just take your brand of “fandom” elsewhere. You should be ashamed. Excuse me but let me make this clear I am not ashamed at all and please Shut Up about telling me how I should be a fan. This is the way it has always been. Mac had vision problems when he had a bad game but was perfectly fine until he had another bad game. Dante is hurt until he isn't. The list goes on and on. I am not saying the players are faking injuries. I am saying the fans are creating injuries or making a big deal out of a normal knock to make excuses for our poor performance. The excuses have gotten old. We have a fan base that refuses to acknowledge reality.

Another frustrating blowout loss to another good but far from great team. We are the worst team in the league, and it’s not close right now. There are reasons for that, and I feel for this team. They’ve had injuries, a COVID pause, and now Ewing is out. Still, it’s not acceptable. Good teams don’t need everything to go right in order to win. They can face adversity, respond, and win in the face of difficulties. Georgetown has not done that, consistently, in years.
The most frustrating thing to me tonight is that there is no excuse for the turnovers and mental lapses. You have practice to correct sloppy practices and to learn when to get back and play defense. Time after time, St. John’s took turnovers and, adding insult to injury, we had no one back even when they missed the slam. The most agonizing, frustrating thing to me about today is the number of times the second St. John’s player made the highlight play. That should never happen.
I feel bad for the players. I’m sure they want to play better. Right now, though it’s hard to find bright spots. I do not see what we are building or how to find that optimism for “next year.” We are always at least a player, and sometimes four or five, short of having a genuinely competitive team. The Big East continues to produce great basketball, and it is so frustrating to be at the absolute bottom of this league. I’ll be ready to cheer for this team in the next game, but this was not fun to watch.

13 and 13 for Aminu on highly efficient shooting.
Nice final 24 minutes for Harris after a putrid first 16.

I am still happy to see the run that got us back in. The effort was there. I appreciate like most on here that these kids fight, especially the freshman to the end of most games...how can you not...the problem is it may be year 1 for many of these kids but it's year 5 for Ewing and we are past moral victories at this point. We need "real" victories at some point and a sign that this roster is growing in a positive way... Beantown we aren't going to get many more Ws this year so I'm just looking for improvement from the team. There should be complete games played like the the 5min stretch of good play by February. Even if they don't win those games I'll be happy.

When is the next game? Can't wait to see my guys again. I am seeing improvement and it might be good that Carey isn't playing. It is forcing our young guys to grow up and allowing them to get some much needed expereince.

At least our men's track team is better than SJU's men's track team (mainly because SJU has no men's track team. I guess that is all I can say today, except NO MORE TOs.

Aminu is so frustrating he has shown he has the skills and capabilities to do what is needed, but keeps going back to what doesn't work. He is likely having to break through years of horrible coaching and not being on a solid team where he could play as a team player. If he puts together what works he will be incredibly good, but he often hurts more than helps when he leans into what doesn't work. It isn't coaching as Patrick has been on him to stop the forced plays and flailing rather than focussing on getting shots to go, as well as better passes. Aminu's problem is that he had 5 stars next to his name. A lot of expectations come with it, right or wrong. Like our other freshman (and sophomores), he is making bonehead plays consistently. That comes with the territory with young guys. Aminu is no different. Some are trying to rush him to the NBA, but he has 4 years to develop. He has a good head on his shoulders and is confident in himself. He'll be fine. Agree with this. Other players have broken through their high school baggage and starting to play like they are in D1 college. It is a slow process for everybody and young players take time. They all are improving, some more quickly than others. Aimnu plays like he was the only hope on this high school team and travel team. 2 or more years of a coach drilling that into a players head takes a long time to over come that. I think my frustration is Aminu has games where he plays like is or has turned the corner, but then games where he just isn't getting what is needed or what works. He somewhat plays like a small Trawick who was a feisty beast, but without out Trawick's strength. Aminu has far more offensive capability, but second guesses good shots and finishes and opts for harder shots rather than sure points. On defense he abandon's his man to chase the ball inside with his man making a 3 on the wing (far too many times with Rice trying to cover for Aminu's complete lack of discipline). Aminu will get there, he has a long way to go. Somedays it seems shorter and others it is much much longer. The good thing is the coaches are repeating exactly what he needs to be doing.

He was in earlier in the game. His inside positioning needs work on defense, but covers well going out. Not really clear when he plays and doesn't. The team closes gaps and stretches leads when he is in. Barring yet another mass exodus Ryan is the future. His upside is much higher than either Tim or Wilson and i would rather play the kids with the highest upside and lose by 25 than sit them and lose by 20. Ryan has repeatedly said he is all in as a Hoya until he is ready to play at the next level. He has said he has learned a lot and improved a lot and is loves the attention, direction, and coaching he is getting.

You are just a constantly complaining malcontent who finds no joy in any aspect of the team. No one on here is happy with what is going on with the team but the repetitive harping on the same things over and over again whether it’s in context or not is tiresome. I mean enough. Can you find anything constructive? Or if not maybe you should just take a break and only root for the soccer team. You’re embarrassing yourself.

Another very disappointing season.

13 and 13 for Aminu on highly efficient He has an incredible nose for the ball on the boards—almost always around it. I think it’s the best part of his game (now). Unfortunately he did miss an open eight-footer during our run that would have cut it, I think, to six.

Agreed — This team has lots of problems, but Aminu isn’t one, at least to me. He’s one of the few bright spots, and I am excited to watch him each game. He has struggled a bit in conference play, which is to be expected. Even so, he clearly is the best player on the floor for us all game. He also has a tough assignment because every other team knows this. He gets the most attention from his opponents because he is our most dynamic threat. He will be fine. The problem is that we have got to put the right players around him.

Our guys fought hard to the end.
Props to Coach Orr for holding things together and keeping the guys fighting hard.
It has been a crazy season with missed games, guys in and out and now Coach Ewing out. Really tough.
Our young are guys getting a baptism by fire.
It isn't pretty, but a learning experience.
Let's get ready for the next game.
Go Hoyas!

It isn't coaching as Patrick has been on him to stop the forced plays and flailing rather than focussing on getting shots to go, as well as better passes. Agreed. My biggest gripe with him is that he is too often a black hole on offense, and not terribly efficient. Against Marquette his bad decisions were a run stopper, and again today. Unfortunately Hoyas allow a couple mistakes or missed shots to snowball, so when Aminu kills a run the effect is amplified. But if he starts integrating with his teammates on offense more, he’d be a top 5 player in the conference, with incredible looking stat sheets. I am not going to excuse away his offense but two times today he made perfect decisions and his guys blew what would've been easy layups. His decisions today weren't nearly as bad as recent. You could tell he was trying to do better but it was not rewarded. The real problem is he is not put in a position to succeed. He certainly has his limitations on offense and most coaches would coach around them. Put a guy like him in a terrible system and you asking for trouble. For the people saying he is nowhere near an NBA player don't realize guys make it to the NBA as long as they have an elite skill. That skill does not have to be on offense. He is certainly an NBA rebounder and his defense is close enough where he can get there. He also has an NBA motor and an NBA body. For the most part Champagnie wanted no parts of him today. He made him uncomfortable. It was the least 3s that he took all year. Most of Julian's points came when someone else was on him or the defense just broke down or he got a rebound. He did give up the bad back door but other than that I thought he was pretty good considering how good Champagnie is.
