NBC offered Ronna McDaniel a better contract to appear on MSNBC

MSNBC President Rashida Jones participated in recruiting former Republican National Committee chair Ronna McDaniel earlier this month and McDaniel was offered a more lucrative contributor contract after she agreed to appear on MSNBC and not just NBC News, according to people familiar with the matter.

NBC executives including Rebecca Blumenstein and Carrie Budoff Brown led the hiring process.

Fox News twists data on economy and crime to attack Biden

The Washington Post and our partners at the Schar School conducted a national poll to test, among other things, what false beliefs Americans held. We presented several issues, including ones centered on the 2020 election, Russian interference in the 2016 election and climate change, and asked respondents to pick the accurate view of each. Republicans (and Republican-leaning independents) and those who said Fox News was one of their main sources for political news were much more likely than respondents overall to hold a false belief on the presented issues.

Lawyers for Hunter Biden plan to sue Fox News “imminently,” according to a letter sent to the network and obtained by NBC News.

The letter, dated April 23, puts the Fox News Channel and Fox News Digital on notice for litigation claims arising from the network’s alleged “conspiracy and subsequent actions to defame Mr. Biden and paint him in a false light, the unlicensed commercial exploitation of his image, name, and likeness, and the unlawful publication of hacked intimate images of him.”

Hunter Biden has been a focus of Fox News coverage for the last several years. A review of network transcripts by the group Media Matters cites at least 13,440 mentions of Hunter Biden since January 2023. Biden’s legal team believes the number of mentions over many years makes the potential case as significant if not more so than the Dominion case, according to sources familiar with the legal strategy.

I've waited patiently through twenty-one pages of this thread and, unless I overlooked it, I haven't seen a single post referencing CNN reporting that one may characterize as propagandist, i.e., full-throated fabrications as habitually propagated by Fox "News."

I did not see it in the 21 pages of this thread. Did I miss it? One particular poster specialized in repeating Fox talking points without attribution. It is still a false equivalency as there is no other media outlet that serves primarily as an arm of the MAGA GOP.

I would have sworn that whatever "Republicans" are left here to comment on the CNN defalcations. Whoops, violated the rules didn't I?

Even MSNBC with its liberal POV is not even close. Remember Fox was founded by a political operative. Let me know when either CNN or MSNBC are found liable for defamation to the tune of almost $800 million.

I’m not a huge fan of CNN, but I think it’s a difference of both degree and kind. The Nick Sandmann issue was the result of a poorly investigated and vetted story. A bunch of outlets ran articles without a full knowledge of the facts. That’s definitely a journalistic failure. However, with respect to Fox and the like, they absolutely know the facts (as indicated by much of the information that came out during discovery in the Dominion suit) but decide to outright lie to their viewers day in and day out because that is what the viewership wants. They are not interested in truth, only in reinforcing their established world view. It’s pure propaganda.

Fox News has pulled down a six-part series in which it staged a mock trial of hypothetical criminal charges against Hunter Biden after the president's son threatened to sue the network.

The series, which was first posted on the cable network's right-wing streaming service back in October 2022, was removed only a day after Biden's legal team publicly made its threat. Biden says the network defamed him, among other accusations.

A former Secret Service agent sued two news organizations for defamation Tuesday and accused them of publishing stories based on fabricated text messages that he says falsely linked him to Hunter Biden.

Robert Savage, a 25-year veteran of the U.S. Secret Service and the Special Agent in Charge of the agency’s Los Angeles Field Office from 2015-2017, filed the lawsuits in New York against the New York Post and two of its reporters, and the owner and publisher of the Daily Mail.

James Comer, the Republican chairman of the House Oversight Committee, which has investigated Biden, appeared to reference the text messages in an interview with Fox News in 2023.

“There are numerous instances where the Secret Service came and tried to bail Hunter out when he was in a jam,” Comer said. “When he was in California and getting in all kinds of trouble, getting kicked out of a very exclusive hotel there.”

Imagine thinking that the charges upon which Trump was convicted and the former Republican party have downplayed for months think that these "bogus" charges are only a result of attempting to tarnish a man who very much deserves to be brought up on hundreds of thousands of manslaughter charges for his gross mishandling of COVID? It's only complete idiots that think Trump's reputation is anything but that of a detestable POS regardless of what charges he's faced or will face.
