About 4-5 inches taller, to start. I dont think Blair is a great comp. Rice doesn't have a floater game and obviously Rice has some size on Blair. I would describe him more as a Malinowski profile. He's a knock down 3 point shooter with a quick release. He shot about 35% from 3 at Citadel, but as Yaboy pointed out elsewhere, it was near 40% before a 4 for 41 stretch in his last 3 games of the season. Citadel is an uptempo team that is top 10 in 3s shot and Rice shot 2nd most in the country. Fatigue played a major role down the stretch in that slump it would seem (he played 33+ minutes a game). I also think that it shouldn't be lost upon Gtown fans that he was a Deans List graduate at a military institution and Co captain. We have lacked on court leadership on Ewing teams. Either because the alphas were more Me than We as Pat used to say, or in more recent vintage, simply because the seniors and best players didn't have that type of personality. The most leadership we saw on a Ewing team was when everybody left and Jagan became the leader, surpassing anyone's possible expectations considering what roster remained. I think Rice along with Carey could be very important with how much youth will be on the roster.

Kid's quick release reminds me of another Rice, Glen Rice.

Another stealthy pickup. Just like last year with Bile and Carey usually the first we hear of a guy is when they are committing. Usually the ones we think we are in the mix for, we really aren’t, and the ones we are we (this board) often has no clue about. We weren’t even mentioned in this report from two weeks ago. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/citadel-transfer-kaiden-rice-looking-for-the-best-fit Really happy the staff recognized the positions of need and filled them with King and Rice respectively. I had assumed we were done, so not sure where some are saying there’s one move left? Do we know for a fact Carey is definitely returning? I don’t think it’s been confirmed, but the fact he’s not being honored at the awards dinner I would assume is the indication? I hate to speculate on any other departures...

3 point shooting was the biggest void left by the expected departures and as a proven D1 3 point shooter, Rice is a great pickup to fill that void. He’ll face better defenders in the Big East than the SoCon, but he’ll also be playing with guys like Mohammed, Riley, and Harris who should be big threats off the bounce to help get Rice some clean looks. Wouldn’t be surprised if Rice averages more points per game than any transfer since Pryor. He was a high school teammate of Malcolm Wilson.

Welcome Kaiden! Very happy to see this move.
I know the first reaction is to ask who he replaces, ie is he Blair or Pickett etc. What I love about King and Rice is that they’re skill sets that simply weren’t on the team last year. The staff has identified some skill sets that were lacking and found transfers that fit perfectly.
If Rice commits himself on the defensive end, you have a perfect 3 and D wing with a great wingspan. Exactly the type of player you want around either Aminu or Dante. You’re not going to be helping off Rice, so good luck keeping the slashers out of the lane.

We need the shooters up the lanes for Aminu and Riley. The slashers were what we were missing last year. I was hoping Pickett and Bile could develop that part of their games. They were decent but not as effective as Aminu and Riley will be. I pray we get Baldwin because he will open up the lanes even more. Also, I hope Sibley, Aminu and Riley work on their midrange game this off-season.

Kid has a ridiculously quick release with a lot of range. Good pickup as we really needed 3pt shooting
