He’s been next in line at SHU since he took St. Pete’s job. I think he will do well at Seton Hall. It may take him a few years to get used to different level of recruiting that he will be doing at Seton Hall compared to the kids he recruited at St Peters's, but he seems to be a charismatic type of guy and I would assume kids would gravitate toward his enthusiasm. His profile could not be any higher right now coming off his tournament run, so he could make a quick splash with some recruits.

It'll be interesting to see if Reeves & Minaya come back as well..
On a side note, I think it'd be a good idea for them NCAA to grant 5 years to all student athletes going forward.
It'll help to lessen the blow of the NBA getting rid of the one year eligibility rule but more importantly it'll make a better product on the court.

He bided his time behind Watson for a few years and really improved as a player over that time. He should get a chance to start and play a lot of minutes and show what he can do. If the other guys come back also, they will be a strong team again. If Reeves and Minaya both leave, along with the other guys who have used all of their eligibility, then they will have some rebuilding to do and might struggle to some degree.

I actually think Croswell is more skilled than Watson. Watson plays with a PTown nasty streak but Croswell has post moves.

It’s not going to be easy for the Hoyas to climb out of the cellar.

It’s not going to be easy for the Hoyas to climb out of the cellar. Not with Pat as head coach. If he stays, honestly, which BE coach is worse than Pat? Even the newcomers (Holloway to SH?) look promising for the league. I expect that those teams with the new coaches will not have a dip. For reference, here is Pat’s record vs.: Wright (Villanova): 2-9 (home 1-4, away 0-5, neutral 1-0) McDermott (Creighton): 3-8 (h 1-4, a 1-4, n 1-0) Cooley (Providence): 3-6 (h 2-3, a 1-3) Jordan (Butler): 4-6 (h 1-4, a 3-2) Hurley (UConn): 0-4 (h 0-2, a 0-2) Leitao (DePaul): 4-3 (h 2-1, a 2-2) Stubblefield (DePaul): 0-2 (h 0-1, a 0-1) Wojciechowski (Marquette) 2-6 (h 0-4, a 1-2, n 1-0) Smart (Marquette): 0-2 (h 0-1, a 0-1) Willard (Seton Hall): 4-9 (h 3-2, a 0-5, n 1-2) Mullin (SJU): 3-2 (h 1-1, a 2-0, n 0-1) Anderson (SJU): 3-4 (h 2-1, a 1-2, n 0-1) Mack (Xavier): 0-2 (h 0-1, a 0-1) Steele (Xavier): 2-4 (h 2-1, a 0-3) Miller (Xavier): TBD

While Villanova loses a lot, and Moore probably misses part of next year, Cam Whitmore is going to be a problem, now newly minted as McDonald's All-American Game MVP.
While Wright has suprisingly missed on a few high level (most were 5*) recruits over the years in Quinnerly, Antoine, Yarou, Cheek, Wayans, etc., I fear Whitmore will be more on the Brunson / Spellman level.

Whitmore is going to be a beast. We need guys like that in the Big East.

Remember - basketball is a team - I emphasize a team sport. We need all hands to buy into their roles. You can have all of the 5 star recruits you desire but if they are all selfish and are one and done the program will always be in rebuilding mode. Ask KY. They have been dancing alot, however, it has been 10 years since they won the title. I know it's been over 30 for us but you get my point.

You need both team play and talent.

Yes you are correct talent - just think about the talent that came through GU over the years and transferred out or declared for the NBA early but needed at least one or two more years on campus.

We should have one it in 2007 - phantom foul call towards the end of the Florida game.
