Damn, between work and being in a constant state of delirium from what we accomplished last week, I haven't had time to post anything about these games since our Marquette win. What a truly amazing, delightful week. Go Hoyas, beat the Buffs. First game Saturday.

Delightfully tacky, yet unrefined...

Championship #8 is all that matters this season. It's tough to read on here that ppl are downplaying the fact we're BE Champs even after our performance today.

Yesterday was extremely frustrating, and we don’t know exactly what the next few years will look like. But the fact that we managed to win the BET (something that we failed to do with some much better teams) is a big accomplishment. It was especially sweet to do it in the year that UConn rejoined the conference and looked primed to win it themselves, pass us in total BET titles, and give all of their annoying fans grounds to claim that they “owned” the BE.

Also ended Nova’s run. They had won 3 in a row.

This win is still just as sweet, in some ways sweeter as I take steps back from the season and slowly prepare to enter my hibernation from HoyaTalk during the off season. Over the course of four days, we beat two teams that are heading to the Sweet 16. The 73-48 win over Creighton, in addition to winning us our first league tournament title since 2007, was our most dominating win over a high-quality opponent in years. I honestly can’t immediately recall a comparable performance. Moreover, this team won a trophy for Georgetown. Dante also won an incredible honor as a freshman and has shown so much promise as a player and as a leader. No performance will ever take away those achievements.
I have been following this team closely since 2007. There have been plenty of great moments, and plenty of moments I would rather forget. This conference tournament championship was one of the best in a long time, and I’m so grateful to this team for giving us that moment. They showed a resolve in New York that could be a building block for something special. I am so happy for Coach Ewing for proving his doubters (including me, when he was hired) wrong. His tenacity and passion for the game have been fun to watch. His players have developed, he built a weak team into a tournament championship one, and he has a top recruiting class coming in. I hope this year’s performance will help him build those things. He isn’t perfect, but he has made big strides to grow this team. The positive press throughout the week showed he has unique potential to harness this moment and do special things at Georgetown.
Now, I’ll begin to transition to the off season. I’ll read as people far smarter than I talk about transfers, recruiting, scholarships, and eligibility. In the meantime, there will be baseball and (at least for me) SEC football. With hope, the world will also begin to rebuild itself from this awful pandemic. I do know this — as the weather turns colder again, I will be watching with interest as this team comes together and look forward to a new season. I am upbeat about Georgetown basketball because this team chose to fight when all the odds were against it. They can hold that trophy high. Congrats on the season! Here’s to more trophies in the years ahead!

Our reigning NCAA champion men's soccer team is undefeated and ranked #2... our women's soccer team is undefeated and ranked #12... our men's lacrosse program is ranked #11... should I go on?

Hey, bama, how about track and field? Also... Our reigning NCAA champion men's soccer team is undefeated and ranked #2... our women's soccer team is undefeated and ranked #12... our men's lacrosse program is ranked #11... should I go on? Very fair points, both of y’all! I have always struggled to follow soccer, though I did go see Georgetown play in the Final Four of men’s soccer in, I guess, 2012, when the championships came to Birmingham, Alabama. The years run together now. We beat Maryland. I didn’t always know when to yell (or what to yell about), but it’s always fun to see the Hoyas win!
