I think Watson is scheduled to officially visit us on 9/17...I haven't seen any scheduled visits yet for Martin, Aligbe, Dunn or Hamilton but they could be in the works...my guess is that we'll end up with a class of 2 or 3, most likely 3...my wish list, Livingston, Anglin and one of the above... Agreed, that would be the best possible class imo, and I like Martin or Watson since they are very versatile and at his level and with the interest he has, getting Martin would be a great steal out of Florida

Martinnnnnnn when you choosing (he’s no. 70 now on 247 and top 60 in espn where Denver is in 90s so getting him would be very solid)

“I’ve been in contact with them for probably the longest on the list,” Martin said. “Coach (Patrick) Ewing actually played with my high school coach, Charlie Ward. So we had a zoom call and everything and they all chopped it up together. He was just telling me how you played for one NBA player… so I should play for another one. And he said how they have similar coaching styles. Also how I’d be a good fit in their system.” One week ago: www.on3.com/news/jaylen-martin-2022-4-star-cuts-list-to-7/I did not know that his coach played with Ewing or maybe someone mentioned it awhile ago this is all blurring but that would certainly help

He is a former Heisman trophy winner. He played football only all throughout college but after he graduated (I think from Florida St or some other ACC school), he decided he wanted to play basketball. He was immediately drafted by the Knicks which was, at that time, my favorite team because they had Patrick Ewing on that team. Jeff Van Gundy eventually made him the starting point guard for the Knicks, after Doc Rivers retired. Charlie Ward was a very good player for the Knicks and he and Patrick have a lot of history together.

Ward was on the team, but didn’t play in the game against GU due to shoulder injury.

I just remember him from playing football in college. But, I stand corrected. Good job!

Don't get me started Beans I've been on a self imposed hiatus and I ain't come back on here to argue with you. Don't start it Beans. Now, I'm gonna try to put myself on another long hiatus and I don't need you prodding me pal.

The media would make a big deal of how he would miss the OOC schedule because FSU football was always in the C'ship hunt. If he was 10yrs younger he would have been a good pro QB.

Mentioned it in the 2022 thread when we first started recruiting him.

You know I'm am going to be frank with you. Believe it or not, I barely even remember seeing Sam Cassell in playing ball in college. For some reason all I can remember, as far as hoops are concerned, is Georgetown basketball. I do remember hearing Sam Cassell's name during that time but I never watched FSU basketball. I hated the ACC, just like I do today and the only ACC schools that I payed any attention to were Maryland, NC State, North Carolina and Duke. I hated all of the teams in the ACC except for Maryland and NC State for some reason. So I can remember a few guys from those schools during that time but can't replay back, in my mind, Sam Cassell in an FSU uniform. I know it is strange being that college basketball is my favorite viewing sport. I think I am still like that today. I know all of the Georgetown players and transfers but ask me to name any other player from another school and I will be hard pressed. Crazy!

One last question guys and then I am outta here like Mr. Belvedere. Okay, if we were to land Martin and then we land Livingston...how is that gonna work out with having practically four top notch shooting guards on the team if you count Aminu and Jordan and if you count both Aminu and Jordan were to stay another year or two? How is that gonna work for our roster guys in terms who could be starting when and if Martin and Livingston were to come on board?

I believe he was on the FSU team that ended Zo’s Hoya career in Round 2 in 1992. He was but didn't play that game. I just remember Irvin Church was horrid that game. So was Bob Sura for them. They were in full Bob Sura hype mode on CBS.
