^^^ Cognitive decline associated with age. Plus, assertions of privilege are pierced by the crime-fraud exception and a strong case can be made for the application of that exception here.

Seems a bit worse than peaceful protest but that's just me...

Richard Donoghue — formerly the Justice Department’s second-in-command — appeared for a closed-door interview on Friday with the select panel investigating Jan. 6, according to two sources familiar with the matter. The interview, one of the panel’s first, comes as its investigators accelerate their probe of the events leading up to the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. Donoghue’s tenure at the Justice Department in the final days of the Trump administration has drawn scrutiny from lawmakers as they explore the former president’s attempts to pressure the department to interfere in the 2020 election. www.politico.com/news/2021/10/06/trump-doj-jan-6-515324

EasyEd prefers simple, direct questions. Here are a couple: how does one justify supporting elected officials that make light of January 6th? They are also the same elected officials that are doing their level best to hinder minority communities access to voting or invalidating their votes entirely through gerrymandering and undermining the faith of the public in the integrity of elections based on absolutely nothing. Which policies or agendas are more important to you than the preservation of American democracy?

18 USC Section 371: If two or more persons conspire either to commit any offense against the United States, or to defraud the United States, or any agency thereof in any manner or for any purpose, and one or more of such persons do any act to effect the object of the conspiracy, each shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both. They called it the “command center,” a set of rooms and suites in the posh Willard hotel a block from the White House where some of President Donald Trump’s most loyal lieutenants were working day and night with one goal in mind: overturning the results of the 2020 election. The Jan. 6 rally on the Ellipse and the ensuing attack on the Capitol by a pro-Trump mob would draw the world’s attention to the quest to physically block Congress from affirming Joe Biden’s victory. But the activities at the Willard that week add to an emerging picture of a less visible effort, mapped out in memos by a conservative pro-Trump legal scholar and pursued by a team of presidential advisers and lawyers seeking to pull off what they claim was a legal strategy to reinstate Trump to a second term. www.washingtonpost.com/investigations/willard-trump-eastman-giuliani-bannon/2021/10/23/c45bd2d4-3281-11ec-9241-aad8e48f01ff_story.html?itid=hp-top-table-main
