Team's first half was awesome. Second half looked like they were just trying to see it out for the final 35 minutes or so, which is a recipe for having to hold on and absorb attacks. Preferred them on the front foot attacking. Also some rotations that were different by Wiese -- wonder how much was getting inexperienced guys some experience while we were up, how much was keeping the more experienced/leaders fresher for the next games, and how much was tactical. Hopefully pays off in the coming games. Definitely notice the lack of Dodson, Hope-Gund, and Montes, but give the guys tons of credit for the effort. Polvara and Zewaldzki are the clear leaders now, but lots of good shifts by the rest. Would be amazing to make a Final Four (or farther) with our 3 top guys leaving near the end of the season.

Highly entertaining stuff on the other side of the bracket, as Seton Hall takes down Virginia Tech in the eight round of PKs following a 2-2 draw. Hokies shot first, and their 8th shot clanged off the post. The Seton Hall keeper, the Italian-born Andreas Nota, then proceeds to *call off the next shooter* and call his own number instead. He then powers in the game-winning goal on a shot that was hypothetically saveable, but struck with sufficient force that even a glancing deflection probably wouldn't have been enough to keep it out.
Pirates advance to their first quarterfinal since Dave Nolan was between the pipes for them. They face Indiana, which put away Marquette by a 2-1 margin.

How good is Marshall? Knocking off the #1 seed is no small feat, but on the surface seems an easier draw for us.

They had wins over two other tournament teams this season: Kentucky and Charlotte. They have yet to concede more than 1 goal in regulation this season.

Defense and counter attacking is their game which will be tough to break down but the coaches need to instruct the players to be tight on their forwards as they seem quite set in using only their dominant foot especially the blonde one who tried to do a lot at the end and threw away chances by not passing or shooting poorly just to force it on his right foot. Isolate them on their bad foot to smother counters easier and tightly mark any forwards that drop to get the ball. They are good but it is def better that we are not playing Clemson.

At their best, there is no team they cannot handle.
It has been hard to integrate new roles and attempt to replace three pros. That said, Coach and the staff clearly know what they have and how to best deploy it.
One at a time.

Hoyas looking threatening early. Good ball movement around the box. Need to keep the shots down.

Pretty cagey first half. No great chances either way thus far.

Hopefully our depth will give us the edge in second half.
Marshall had not substituted as best I could see/hear.
