i'd be surprised if it's not UNC Why? Because when UNC and/or Duke go hard after a recruit it is hard to beat them.

Man, there haven't been many guys who had a better summer or who have gotten people more excited about him than Cam Whitmore has. He's gone from just outside of the top 100 to right on the fringe of five-star status and there's a good chance that he takes that next step when we update rankings. An extremely explosive and tough wing forward from Baltimore, Whitmore is a basketball version of a heat seeking missile whose target is attacking the rim and causing as much destruction as possible once he gets there. Is he a true small forward, I'm not sure. I just know that he's one of those guys whose position falls under "on the floor as much as possible" if you are coaching him. I don't want to rule out local programs who have been recruiting him aggressively for a while in Georgetown and Maryland. I also think that Illinois is a program to keep a close eye on when he visits them at the end of August. But, he's scheduled to see North Carolina the weekend before that. Headed into that visit, I believe that Hubert Davis and the Heels are in pretty good shape. Also, Villanova is still out there and many feel that they are ultimately the team to beat. Can I guarantee Hubert Davis lands Whitmore? Nope. I can't even predict that just yet. But, UNC appears to have a very legitimate chance in this one and that's all you can really ask for as they look to add to Davis' first class. 247sports.com/LongFormArticle/Ask-EBoss-Alabamas-2022-class-Cam-Whitmore-and-much-more-169071843/#169071843_2

Movement: Up from No. 101 to No. 22 overall The lowdown: Few helped their stock more than Whitmore this summer. Rivals.com’s Jamie Shaw was the driving force behind his massive bump. A hyper-explosive athlete, Whitmore made his mark during the June evaluation period, impressing with his play above the rim and his impressive rebounding prowess to go along with his ability to fill it up. The 6-foot-6 Whitmore projects as a high-level college player with a possible pro future. Where he might land: North Carolina, Illinois, Miami and Maryland are schools to watch for Whitmore. A decision from him may not be far off. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/rivals-rankings-week-biggest-risers-at-each-position

I’m just lost at what could’ve went wrong here, Coach Ewing was at many of his games personally and we were regularly mentioned as the school going the hardest for him. You can’t say it’s for lack of trying. I wonder if people expect Riley and Mohammed to be here for a couple years which is why we’ve struck out on our top wing targets this cycle. Also looking like Livingston is headed to Memphis too.

The top recruits want to play for pay and they see better options with other programs.

Maybe Whitmore prefers to play outside the DMV.

Which college coach “puts” people in the pros? Come on now! You have to have the material to work with. Thankfully, we have them coming in. Stay tuned.

Trillest, why do you say it looks like Livingston is heading to Memphis?

It must be frustrating to lose so many recruits after hustling, selling, persistent calls, etc. All to be dismissed. Not a good word. But seems like wasted effort, but, nothing ventured, nothng gained.

Seems like Whitmore really blew up over the last few months and was getting much more attention from some blue bloods and that he was waiting for the North Carolina offer. I have no inside information but if I had to guess, it would be UNC

Think this is a 2 horse race with the team that has done the most with DMV kids lately in the lead. If not it will be the other school (besides Michigan) that has done a good job of stealing our lunch lately.

Ehh... 1) Are you really going to hang your hat on a high second round pick?? Ayo was a top 30 kid coming into college. I could be wrong but If Aminu got drafted 38 after his junior season I don't think you would be touting that as a Ewing success story. 2) Turgeon has been on him forever and has a lot more pros than Underwood. If that was his concern UMD would be on the list over Illinois. I know your very critical of the coach but that's just a massive reach dude.

Cam dropped us a long time ago and made it official last week. We don't have to follow his every move anymore. Just a short post when he commits.....😁
