We've got a lot of talent now. I don't know how this works, or how it shakes out, but looks to be the most optimistic, talented array if talent that I think I've ever seen here in quite a while, if they live up to their press clippings... that has nothing to do with stars. This is intriguing and very hopeful. I hope the health climate of the country significantly improves and a Kenner League or something develops that allows the team to get to know each other in person instead of ZOOM. Who else is optimistic? I think we have everything we need to win!

You're right....so many new players it's hard for me to keep track. He, presently would be third in line at shooting guard. TJ Berger would be after him, and perhaps also a 3rd point guard. There is so much talent and so many possibilities. The fallout before August will be interesting. Are we eligible for another international trip to build chemistry, etc.? There should be some strong competition for positioning amongst the players.

Dante Carey Aminu Rice King Small lineup, but packs offensive punch. Let’s see who else we land though. I’m liking our pieces. I think that line-up can play 5-out. 2 strong 3 point shooters. 1 great slasher + Dante + King.

Okay I am going to list what I believe to be each player's offensive makeup and defensive makeup. If you guys see differently please list yours.
Player: Offensive/Defensive Makeup:
Big Timmy Bully Ball/Defender (Rebounder) Mutombo Finese/Midrange Game/Banger Wilson Shot Blocker (may not be with the team) Tre King Swiss Army knife (midrange, spread floor, shoot threes, banger)/Small Ball Center Billingsley Midrange Game/Shot Blocker/Post Up Holloway Inside Game (very effective at scoring under the basket with array of shots) (may not be with the team) K-Dogg Three Point Specialist/Shooter Sibley Versatile Game (outside and inside scorer, good defender) Kobe Versatile Game (good defender, scrappy) Don Carey Three Point Specialist/Shooter (focusing on defense this year) Aminu Slasher/Power Game/Defender (attacks the basket, gets boards, superior defender) TJ Shooter/Backup Quarterback (may be a lights out shooter should coach make that his role) Dante "The Little General" (primary quarterback of the offense, midrange game, attacks the rim) Beard Combo Guard/Slasher (relentless, gets to the rim, backup quarterback) Riley Slasher/Power Game/Defender (attacks the basket, leaps over everyone, blocks shots on backboards)
Baldwin Versatile Game (superior shooter, scores in bunches, stretches the floor, runs the floor, attacks the basket)
I added Baldwin at the end hoping that we get him added to our roster.

Aminu has been quite good on offensive boards and Rice has decent rebounding numbers too. The poor rebounding of last year outside Pickett, Q, and Dante could improve.

I would rather play small with Tim coming off the bench.

Unless I misunderstood, I thought I read that May 1st was deadline to enter the portal...someone else may know whether that's accurate or whether there's another date...

No I think it's July 1st. all fall sports participants get a waiver on the deadline till July 1st for this year only because of COVID. (In future years it will be May 1st)

I prefer this because this makes us really big. Aminu at 6-5 would be a tall, long, athletic shooting guard. Then Rice at small forward at 6-7 is the same for college.

If you want to be able to transfer without sitting out - yes, May 1. After this year it will be May 1, this year is July 1, with the new rules. That's this year, right? July 1 is for spring sports. There is no current provision for immediate transfers going forward right now (though that may change). A basketball player can transfer whenever they want, but this year - with the one-time exemption - you need to do it before May 1 to get the free pass. Otherwise you're going to have to sit like you normally would have. Athletes in fall/winter sports like, football and basketball, would face a May 1 deadline to enter the transfer portal. Spring athletes would have a July 1 deadline in order to gain immediate eligibility.www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/ncaa-council-passes-one-time-transfer-legislation-allowing-athletes-immediate-eligibility/

Here's the full rule: "Members also adopted deadlines for student-athletes to provide written notification of transfe r if they want to compete immediately. The deadlines will be May 1 for fall and winter sport student-athletes and July 1 for spring sport student-athletes, but the Council also granted a blanket waiver for this year only that sets the date for all student-athletes as July 1. Members noted the May 1 deadline was just a month away, and the waiver would provide students additional time they might need to decide."

Here’s my guess: Harris Carey Aminu Rice King
Somewhat small, but have Ryan and Tim as 5 men off the bench. Would envision Sibley, Riley and Clark playing big roles off the bench.

Bad reading (skimming) skills on my part.
