Our basketball office, Ewing, etc., gives us virtually no info. Very frustrating. And essentially we have been bad the past 10 years. Wake up guys or you will further lose your fan base!

I like Anglin as our first '22 recruit, a fine shot and tough defender. Now we need a forward.......and a top DC area recruit.
And Ewing to coach our players up, being united as a team, and tough on D......
Could be a fun season coming up.
Hoyas!!!!

The decision was made in late December before the Hoyas went on their run. He wanted to stay once he experiencedthe winning culture and BET championship but it was too late by that point.

Yes, I too would like to know why he left. It was not a good sign. He wanted to go to Maryland and at the point in the season he decided we were 3-8, so it doesn’t appear he thought we’d be able to win. As his guardian alluded to, he thought our losing was overshadowing Qs performance. That’s all.

Do you guys have sources for this information? I could understand this reasoning more if it came after the 2020 season, when a bunch of guys left, and things were a mess. It just don't make a whole lot of sense that Wahab would decide to leave in December 2021, AFTER all the departures and AFTER everybody expected Georgetown to be terrible (worse than we actually were). In other words, why start the season at all? I mean, what could he have expected?

One of the first things he/she said was that Q didn’t want to leave but things were already in motion. I think it’s reasonable to say that we were projecting to be better than we were at the point in the season he decided (3-8). So, to that point we were underperforming in terms of performance. The rest of the season leveled out and brought us back closer to preseason expectations. As in, we were worse than even expected when he decided and he anticipated having a stronger year at that point. Unfortunately we finished strong and wasn’t willing to keep faith through the tougher parts of the season. I’m sure a few extra months to learn under Ewing didn’t hurt either. From what I’ve gathered, he didn’t exactly love his campus/school experience either so maybe he was just looking for a better fit.

Also remember that during the prolonged break (winter break/covid break) that there was a player's only meeting. To me this indicates that there was some kind of friction of personalities on the team/locker room during the losing period. My own conjecture is that Blair and Bile weren't on the same page. But whatever it was, according to Blair, after the player only meeting everyone was on the same page and we started winning. Q likely was tired of two years of drama between players (Mac-Akinjo, the incidents and transfers) and then this, so probably decided to move on during the winter break/covid break, especially since the season seemed over so made the deal to move on. However after the players only meeting the team was on the same page, and Bile started to play really well and that continued into the Big East tournament. The more we won and the deeper in the tournament we went, it must have been hard for Q to keep his secret (though it seems like Coach Ewing suspected that Q might not stay) from the team.

Don't worry our team is soon going to be much better than Maryland and Big Timmy is going to be so polished on the court that Q will be long forgotten and out of the Hoya faithful memories. Let's Go Hoyas!
