Godspeed Coach.
In all respects a great man, whose life should be remembered for its impact both on and off the court.
We are better for your presence and lesser for your loss.
RIP.

Like many of us, I grew up with Coach as one of my heroes, and he remains that today. REST IN PEACE Coach. This will be a very sad day.

Legendary coach even more legendary has a man. I loved you has a child coach even before I knew why, now I know why and you're gone. At a time when your wisdom and knowledge are required the most you're gone. Coach we will miss you more than you could've ever possibly understood. I LOVE YOU rest in heaven

Sorry to hear about the passing of Coach Thompson.I always respected Coach Thompson for taking a stand on many of the issues that faced College Athletics and also he played a very huge part in the rise of the Big East Conference and for that we all owe Coach Thompson a great deal of gratitude for that.RIP Coach Thompson.

Sad day for Hoya Hoops, college basketball and beyond. Quite a list of accomplishments. Undoubtedly we will start hearing from some of his best players including the HOFers. So glad he was one of ours. Built Hoya hoops far higher than anyone ever anticipated when he was hired. RIP coach.
