We're a barrel of potential. That's my optimism. We don't have a single returning player who's been an average BE starter yet... but we'll have at least four this year who I think could be that or better. And that's not counting even more talent that figures to begin the year coming off the bench. There's been a lot of buzz off the court with these '21 guys (and future commits/recruits). With another year passing, additional roster refresh, and a BET title on the wall, the stank of the December 2019 exodus really feels like it's in our rearview mirror at this point. Last year felt like a lame duck year in many ways -- though it surely ended even better than we could've hoped. I think/hope this season will be one where we can all appreciate being back in the stands (!) watching our young group of guys get better each game. Dante and Don say hi.

We saw last year when the Hoyas won the BET that there is still a huge media universe out there just dying for the Hoyas to become relevant again. I'm optimistic that it wouldn't take much (say a top 5 BE finish, 1-2 BET wins, and an NCAA bid) for Gtown basketball to be the place to be for recruits and fans. Also, once we gain the old mojo you could see how the NIL money might flow to players marketing themselves to the black community which in turn would make us more attractive to recruits. This is true. But, since it's the optimism thread, I want the outlets that don't want the Hoyas to become nationally relevant again to be forced to cover the Hoyas because they can't ignore them. I'm looking at you, world wide leader in awful, stale programming. I rarely watch ESPN for any reason but their schtick hasn't changed one iota in 30 years. Initially, it was novel and fun. Now it's just horrific to watch.

I was amazed at how quickly the commentators on both networks hopped on a Hoya bandwagon as the BET unfolded. College bball in general (especially the BE) and college bball broadcasting would love a Hoya resurgence. Face it, Creighton and Xavier and Butler, and even Marquette or St. Johns, don't generate the buzz that Hoya basketball can. This could be the key to our bball renaissance.

ESPN FC is an absolute joke Why do you say that? I find their discussion lacks quality insight and their articles are pure clickbait. Maybe I'm being too harsh, but I choose to get my soccer fix from other sources.

Yeah and they are even more biased towards and against certain teams than most stations and it is so annoying and I am not even a fan of a team they hate on. Also they basically advertise tabloid-like headlines and they will waste time on stuff that will genuinely never happen and makes zero sense. I like watching when they get into dumb arguments and shout a bit lol. NBCSN with Rebecca Lowe and Co make it look so amateur
