He’s filling that role that Rodney Pryor played for us...with a little less flair but with seemingly more consistency.

He's the perfect 5th starter on a championship team. Hope we can snag Aminu next year because that starting 5 is starting to look fierce. I wouldn't expect him to be back next season.

2 four point plays. 2 critical deflections on defense in the last 5 minutes. Big big contribution.

Had to come here to give Don some love. Incredibly effective today - very happy for him. Big plays on both ends.

Had to come here to give Don some love. Incredibly effective today - very happy for him. Big plays on both ends. He has embraced his role and is doing amazing. As LA said in the game thread, if he had the mentality of Bile (or Pickett) he could be our leading scorer. In the meantime, he knows when to go for the dagger or when we need the momentum. He showed up not only on the offensive end but also on defense with a couple of big steals.

In the post game presser coach talked about Carey’s work ethic and mentioned how he is someone that he points to when discussing with the younger guys about how hard you need to work to be successful at this level.

2 four point plays. Big big contribution. How many players have hit 2 four point plays in one game. I would think that it is pretty rare.

In the post game presser coach talked about Carey’s work ethic and mentioned how he is someone that he points to when discussing with the younger guys about how hard you need to work to be successful at this level. Carey was good against Seton Hall. I think it took him a few games to really get used to his new role coming off the bench, but he seems to have settled in and is becoming more aggressive offensively when he does come in the game. He does seem to be a calming influence when he is in the game and does not force his offense, but also doesn't hesitate when he has a good look. I know when he transferred that some people noted that he played PG at his previous school, but he seems much more comfortable as a shooting guard then he does handling the ball under pressure. Having another guy who can stretch the floor and make 3's gives the Hoyas more offensive options and makes them much harder to defend.

That's a good question. It was definitely reported before any COVID waivers that he had another year of eligibility. So, he definitely had next year regardless of COVID. I am not sure how the COVID waivers/exemptions work in regard to this, though.

He has 2 years left but he would be a counter if he stays since he still has eligibility. Btw if this information is wrong you can blame LCPolo18

This would mean that he would have 2 years of eligibility left after this year. Since next year wouldn’t be his “extra year”, I’m assuming that he would count against the 13.

I wonder what his goals are? He seems low-key, but confident.

So really, he's effectively a sophomore. And all this time Ewing has been developing him for next year instead of the similar player "Berger".

I would sure hope Ewing is attempting to develop all our players that return for next year's roster...

Well Carey has two years of eligibility left after this year to Berger's 3 (of course they could red shirt him but as of now 3). Either guy could leave whenever they want to so that is a wash as well.
