There are 351 Division 1 programs. We have the 351st best coach. This past season there were 358 Division I basketball programs. I may be wrong, but I believe one additional will be coming in next season (University of St. Thomas - small Minnesota university, not the Virgin Islands), which would make it 359.

Minnesota was one of just a few states with only one D I program, til recently. Who are the others with one or zero D I teams in basketball?

Goodman is 1000% correct, there will be a big number of kids who will have transcripts from several schools but zero diplomas. I'll keep advocating to change the eligibility time frame from 4 in 5 to 5 in 6(rosters stay @ 13) plus bring back the "sit" year if a kid transfers(except for head coaching changes). CBB will have older teams, more parity & be much more entertaining to watch in my view...

Kids in high level D1 are in school for basketball and not degrees. Let me know when the top kids are playing at Harvard & Stanford and graduating.

Jay Wright had a 100% APR in each of his last eight seasons. What did Jay Wright or a Greg McDermott do that Patrick Ewing did not?

I think a good compromise would have been free transfers once two seasons are complete (except for things like coach changes, etc). Under the original system, it was very hard for players to transfer without sitting. But now, guys will be free agents who can transfer without commitment whatsoever. I think it'd be a good idea to require some level of commitment on the player side, to prevent the whole thing from being even more of a circus, while also allowing some freedoms.
I mean, what's next? Allowing guys to transfer mid-season without sitting?
