There's a shocker, he's pushing it as a grift to fatten his wallet and soak taxpayers. The financial motives don’t really add up. He owns this company via a mutual fund which probably only owns a very small percentage. And, this is a cheap generic drug that most of the manufacturers have said they’d donate. I think it’s’ a simpler thing - Trump is dumb and is flailing around for a miracle. This miracle has been pushed by Fox News so that’s all he needs to make it a cornerstone of his “strategy” in fighting this thing.

I'm more cynical and although Trump is very stupid, he's also endlessly corrupt and I think that's the part that's driving him pumping hydroxychloroquine.

" pandemic is a lot like a forest fire," Bush said at the time. "If caught early it might be extinguished with limited damage. If allowed to smolder, undetected, it can grow to an inferno that can spread quickly beyond our ability to control it."
The president recognized that an outbreak was a different kind of disaster than the ones the federal government had been designed to address.
"To respond to a pandemic, we need medical personnel and adequate supplies of equipment," Bush said. "In a pandemic, everything from syringes to hospital beds, respirators masks and protective equipment would be in short supply."So maybe there is something to this crazy notion of having a president who reads?

Almost everything out of his mouth isn’t the truth. And the rest is rude and offensive.

By the man who gave us 9/11 and Katrina. He was definitely reading when 9/11 occurred Pretty amazing Trump managed to outdo both of those failures combined.

President Bonespurs finally gets to fight a war. Unfortunately for us, he’s re-fighting the Vietnam War. In his ambivalent battle against the pandemic, President Trump has managed to repeat, in just a few months, the same mistakes that took three administrations more than a decade to make in Vietnam: ignoring experts’ warnings, running a confused war effort, spreading disinformation, silencing truth-tellers and squandering the prestige of the most powerful nation on Earth. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2020/04/07/this-pandemic-is-trumps-vietnam-he-has-earned-his-bone-spurs/"I take no responsibility at all." - President Bonespurs How stupid are Trump cultists and consumers of the Fox Propaganda Network? Pretty damn stupid.

Pretty damn stupid. As the death toll nears the maximum range for the H1N1 death toll in 2009, which Fox News and Trump have repeated called a disaster for Obama (assuming ignorantly that the deaths from COVID-19 would come well below that), the propaganda machine is already beginning to say that the numbers are inflated to make Trump look bad. Literally everyone is in league with conspiratorial efforts to make Trump look bad without ever once pausing to reason that maybe Trump just looks terrible all on his own. Their response to this cognitive dissonance is startling. Of course that assumes cognition, which is well above the abilities of most Trump supporters.

It will be interesting to see what happens when the weather turns. I've been a bit skeptical of this warm weather miracle because this seems to be thriving in Singapore. And, if you've ever been in Singapore, you know that it's hot and humid there every day.

"I turned every way, but I looked for one to sustain me, but could find no one. But then I remembered the mercies of the Lord, the kindness through ages past. For he saves those who take refuge in him, and rescues them from every evil. So I raised my voice from the very earth, from the gates of the nether world, my cry. I called out: O Lord, you are my father, you are my champion and my savior. Do not abandon me in time of trouble, in the midst of storms and dangers." Sirach 51:7-10

We all know you think religion is hokum. We get it. Many of us do not agree with you. Is it a compulsion to belittle religion at every turn?
