I’m sure you all have noticed, but the Trump and Republican pivot on this is that “nobody saw this coming”, and they are repeating nonstop. That ignores the fact that there is literally a public record of op-eds (Joe Biden in late January) and tweets or recorded speeches (literally every Democratic presidential candidate, and many, many Democratic senators from early February). This was about the same time that Trump was calling it a Democratic hoax and whatnot. How could he recognize it as a Democratic hoax if they were saying nothing about it and couldn’t see it coming? More proof that Trump supporters disdain the truth and have a complete inability to reason.

Audio exploration as to the process in producing a vaccine and why the timeline isn't instantaneous (and may reflect a staggered narrative). www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/w3cszl35Difficult to ascertain the R naught value (basic reproduction number) of SARS-CoV-2 currently given that testing has been haphazard and decidedly not uniform globally. It doesn't appear thus far that this pathogen will cease transmission vis-a-vis SARS-CoV-1 in 2003 - if indeed true, then everyone will be exposed to this virus eventually, whether it's in an unadulterated form as presently constituted or in a diminished state (via a vaccine).

Hopefully the voters in GA now regret letting him steal his election.

Hopefully the voters in GA now regret letting him steal his election. Trump cultists have no regrets. Much like their Dear Leader, they are saying to themselves, "We take no responsibility at all." A cult of personality, or cult of the leader, arises when a country's regime – or, more rarely, an individual – uses the techniques of mass media, propaganda, the big lie, spectacle, the arts, patriotism, and government-organized demonstrations and rallies to create an idealized, heroic, and worshipful image.

Just checking in. Seeing more and more people on the FEMA side who normally have nothing to do with incident response getting pulled off to support current or potential disaster operations. Here's what I mean by the latter: A second NRCC is... akin to having a second Situation Room at the White House, because the first one is totally consumed by a different and ongoing situation. I'm not sure why it's this particular possibility that's driven it all home for me... I guess because the NRCC is something I can personally relate to... but damn. Governor Cuomo was right to say it - there is no 'back to normal.' The old normal is gone - forever. SARS-CoV-2 will go away eventually, but there's no going back.

This is the level of federal incompetence we are dealing with right now. Please watch this and listen to Army LTG Russel L Honore’ explain how broken things are...

So expired masks were in stock for how many years before this Administration took over ? Can’t be. Are you saying it's Obama's and Bush's fault Trump is sending out expired masks 3 1/2 years into his Presidency??? Please tell me that's not what you're saying. 🤦🏾♂️ 1) The official asked the Thais for help—only to be informed by the puzzled voices on the other side of the line that a U.S. shipment of the same supplies, the second of two so far, was already on its way to Bangkok. 2) The government has yet to curtail exports by U.S. companies, however—roughly 280 million masks in warehouses around the U.S. were purchased by foreign buyers on Monday alone, according to Forbes. A FEMA spokesperson said the agency “has not actively encouraged or discouraged U.S. companies from exporting overseas,” noting that various U.S. agencies are coordinating their activities with their overseas counterparts.

No of course not. But it is Obama’s fault expired masks were present in 2011,2012,2013, 2014,2015 and 2016.

So expired masks were in stock for how many years before this Administration took over ? Can’t be. I’m not great fan of the previous administration, but c’mon. Maybe there should have been some survey of the stockpile when we first received word that this was coming here instead of saying that it’ll disappear by April like a miracle? There was a good two months before these were sent out that there was a pressing need to check on them. Or maybe, at the very least, give them a look over before sending them? I know the GOP thing is to blame Obama for literally everything despite Trump being president for more than 3 years, but at what point does he take accountability for a single thing?

The administration you voted for didn't even know they were sending PPE that we needed here in the US to Thailand one week ago. No other President would have waited 5 weeks to take this obvious step. If he hadn't Alabama, and a whole lot of other states would have what they needed already. Instead he's telling the states to bid on it. Competing with each other, foreign buyers, and the feds for the same products. Totally incompetent.

Thanks to all for the prayers and well wishes. I'll be sure to pass them along to my aunt. I know she'll be exceedingly grateful. Nevada, I can empathize with the difficulty of isolation. My aunt is in the same boat. Good on your sister-in-law. She sounds like a good egg. Here's to hoping that your mother-in-law remains healthy and safe. SS, first I want to say that your mom must be some kind of badass to be still living on her own at 90 in your family home. I can't imagine how difficult it must be to not have that contact with her, especially at this time. I wish her good health and strength to get through this safe and sound. It sounds like you and your siblings are doing all that you can. Elvado, please thank Harry for me. If there's a more pious woman than my aunt, I'm not aware of her. She will be incredibly touched that a young man that she doesn't even know is praying for her and, while I'm not at all religious, I certainly do appreciate the effort on her behalf more than I could adequately express. Best wishes for good health to all and to those for whom you love and care. As Elvado said, stay safe and well Hoyas. My aunt asked me to send her sincere thanks and gratitude to each of you that wished her well and have included her in your prayers. She didn't really get the concept of a message board but she completely understood caring for and praying for others. Thank you all on her behalf and, from the bottom of my heart, thank you from me for pulling for her. All else aside, we truly are, for better or worse, in this together. If any of you have anyone about whom you're concerned on Long Island or that needs something that can be dropped on a doorstep, lemme know. I'm very happy to help and have a lot of unexpected time on my hands. My car has a full tank of gas and I have gloves and masks. Please don't hesitate to ask. I'm happy to help if I can be of any service.

I get that my post may have seemed like just a message board platitude. I promise that it isn't. Please message me if you could use some help from someone located in Long Island. Please know that I'm willing and happy to help. Stay safe, Hoyas.
