ESPNU replaying GU-Syracuse qtrfinal, 2010 Big East Tournament. Just saw it on, now in last 5 minutes of game. ESPNNews was also playing 1995 GU-Syracuse. ESPN must have heard Mac was announcing today. I had forgotten how many FTs we missed down the stretch in the 2010. BE QTR Final to make it closer than need be. And Onuaku going out with an injury. That helped.

I'm sure that's why one of her last major moves was Coach Leitao contract extension to 2023-2024. Doubt DePaul does anything until then. Gives him some time to continue to improve the program.

They've got a lot of talent left, but nobody who's already proven to be that good every night.

As it is now, I think we've got to focus on what we are doing and that is all. Nova has more highly ranked recruits redshirting then we have on our team.

I don't really give a silver Edited what interests you. - The best team in our conference just lost their best player. - We have a '20-'21 BE Conference discussion thread on this board. - Only the dimmest of half-wits would compare Nova's current recruiting or '20-'21 outlook to ours in any favorable light. I'd ask what purpose your post serves, but honestly I don't want you to respond again.

They've got a lot of talent left, but nobody who's already proven to be that good every night. Nova will still have a very good team this year, but losing Bey does hurt. He was a match up nightmare for everyone. He is too big and strong to be guarded by smaller/quicker players and to athletic ( and too much range on his shot) to be guarded by bigger post players. He was good as a freshman but really made a huge jump last year and developed into one of the better players in the conference/country. I am sure the staff at Nova uses him as the example of the type of development that players have in their program.

Their biggest problem might be that their weakest link may be the SR leader & primary ball-handler. Gillespie is a fine complementary player, but if he's the "star" on a team with that much talent, they might not be as good as they could be. Don't want to crush him -- he'd be a surefire starter for us -- but he's not as talented as Brunson or as deferential as Arch.

My point is this is not going to factor into our successes or failures next year. That is all. As far as the rest of it, relax Francis!

Dixon, Moore, Antoine, JRE returns and will really improve, Daniels is another very good player, along with Samuels and Gillespie. It's going to be interesting, as you said, see who stands out of that group, but I'm sure Wright has some trick up his sleeve that will really help them. Someone will step up though, I'm very confident in that. But if Gillespie is the weakest link on a team after averaging 15 and 4.5 last season, that's a really good problem to have. Also, imagine if young Arch (his little brother) turns into a legit threat next season... Yeah this Villanova team is pretty good.

Villanova right now as constructed without Saddiq Bey is winning the BIG EAST next season by at least 2 games & will be Top 10 all season. Not really a debate IMO. Why....Team Chemistry! They bring everybody else back. No freshmen or new players to get comfortable with their system/style of play. The only new player they have is Caleb Daniels (avg. 17/5/3 his last season at Tulane) who practiced with the Villanova all last season.
Every other team in the BIG EAST is bringing in multiple freshman & players & has to develop team chemistry and cohesion possibly without being together this summer.
I think this Villanova team will have a legitimate shot to get their 3rd National Championship in 6 years. The real question was if Bey had returned, would Villanova had run the table as the number 1 team in the country all the way until cutting down the nets.

Without food options, rats will begin killing and eating each other. This has been going on in major cities during the pandemic, but also applies to the board.

Marquette will have a pretty good team next year. Carton getting that waiver was pretty obvious IMO. He deserves it. He did have to go through a lot in his freshman season and needed a change of scenery, which is the exact reason these waivers are in place. He's a very good player and will really help that team.

Trey Patterson out of NJ making decision today. Top 40 guy. Final three Florida, Nova, Indiana.
Nova seems to be the favorite here, but he recently followed IU basketball and Archie Miller on twitter. Hopefully he chooses IU, although I hate all three of those schools
