Solidly above us?? If we’re being generous (because they play in a much weaker league) they were a little better than us last year and next year hasn’t happened yet. Despite how we’re flailing we’ve been better than them every year since 2016 and have generally been better over the last decade or so. To say they’re solidly above us is nothing more than an attempt at being self deprecating and doesn’t track with the results have been. We have enough weaknesses right now, no need to make up stuff in an attempt to pile on.... For this upcoming season, they are. If you watched them play last year later in the year, as much as I hate to say it, they really improved and played tough. James Bouknight is an absolute star and RJ Cole is a baller, those of you who saw him at Kenner or in the Howard games can confirm that. If they can get Akok back for the season, they are easily a top half Big East team. Plus they bring in Andre Jackson, who's #32 on the ESPN top 100 and #54 on 247 and Sanogo who's right below him on 247. That's a really good team. That team is solidly above us in expectations and projections, I think that's what he means. As for the other points, they won two natty's man. Those have no relation to next season, like at all, but still. And when either team doesn't even make the NIT (two of those three seasons 2016-17 and 2017-18), I won't say either was better because both didn't perform and that's just debating small things which I don't think matter. But, I'd say UCONN has a better team and chance to make the Big Dance next season. We have two different definitions of “solidly” then. Also the word “are”.

Definitely agree on the main point of UConn being firmly ahead of Gtown going into this season, they have a nice set of guards headed up by Bouknight...

RJ Cole is better than any guard we’ve had since DSR.

Perversely satisfying to see other BE schools experience somewhat unexpected departures - at least we're not all alone in this kind of thing.

Funny that he doesn’t know it’s Butler University and not “University of Butler”. Clearly he’s very impressed by the school.

Funny that he doesn’t know it’s Butler University and not “University of Butler”. Clearly he’s very impressed by the school. A bigtime DMV Georgetown recruit of the late 80s announced to a media throng that he committed to the "University of Georgetown" in an official announcement - Anthony Tucker out of McKinley, I think. So, we probably shouldn't be too quick to have fun at the kettle's expense. I'm sure someone will correct me if I attributed it to the wrong player.

It was Tucker. When he announced “University of...” most folks thought Maryland was going to be the next word out of his mouth. I watched one of his home games senior season and the whole house took notice when JT2 stepped in the crowded old gym.
