If he were injured - or especially if he were "shut down" - he wouldn't be dressed & on the bench (he was vs DePaul). There's enough cover at the 3 (Bile/Pickett, Carey, Sibley, Holloway) where he doesn't need to dress for emergency use.
And he got a few nearly meaningless minutes vs Creighton in the blowout loss earlier in the month, so it's not like it was a "let's test the injury & see if you can go" type deal. He has continued to dress, and is still not seeing any time.
It sure seems like he's just low man on the depth chart right now... which is fine, I suppose. Just surprising.

I'm sorry he's injured. That seems likely. I thought he would be playing and looked forward to him defending Boughknight. But it didn't happen. Whether it is true or not, it is plausible. I hope he gets well soon and gets a medical redshirt.

In the very beginning of the season Like game one or two Kobe dove for a loose ball and really slammed his head into an opponent’s head. I wonder if in addition to the ankle & foot issue if Kobe may have suffered a concussion?

Some body has to be low man. Some will let it define them. Some will let it motivate them. I have a feeling Kobe is the latter.

Regardless of why he didn't play, what I've really liked seeing is that in a number of games recently when they flashed to the bench, Kobe looks genuinely into it, flashing a big small, whooping and cheering for his teammates. He seems like the type of competitor that it would be killing him not to play, so I give him a ton of credit for continuing to be a good teammate. Hopefully he does feel that connected to the team, and whether injury or play is keeping him out, he develops big time over the offseason and can give us good minutes next year. I liked his hustle and tenacity in the few games we saw him, especially early.

Rewatched the last 10 minutes of the UConn game to see how the young performed defensively. This kid is the real deal on that end and his motor is stuck on high. If he can figure out some offense he could be a valuable piece in the future especially if he can become a good 3 point shooter.

No clue what his shot and handles look like so far.

That Would have been a confidence builder. Did you also see the freshmen run a better fast break than the starters which Kobe finished? After re-watching, I wonder if Kobe may find some extra minutes next year in a 4 guard offense if no one steps up and grabs that big wing role.

Kobe certainly plays hard and with a lot of energy, which is something this team needs to improve on. I was impressed with his all out effort on defense even in a game that was out of hand. That type of effort and activity does make me wonder why he could not find more minutes this year, even if it was just as a defensive sub for a few minutes a half, and if there has been some physical issue he has been dealing with.
I have not seen anyone ask, but what was the deal on that one 3 pointer he took? Did that get tipped by someone? That was not good!!!

Haha the commentators seemed to think it was tipped, but I wasn't too sure when I saw it. Haven't seen a replay though so idk

I agree with this, and it's interesting because it's not what I was expecting based on his high school highlights. He seemed like a highly skilled wing, almost like a big guard who could see the floor and make things happen for his teammates. At Georgetown we haven't really seen that level of skill yet, but he's been a great hustle guy, showed a knack for rebounding and looked like a pretty good defender (all in a very limited sample). If he could find a way to pull all of it together, he has potential to be a really nice player. I've never really felt that the gap between Clark, Sibley and Holloway is all that big (even though the recruiting rankings said otherwise). Assuming JP and Bile move on as expected, there are a lot of forward minutes available next season and whichever of them has the best off-season could be rewarded with a big role next year.

I think it depends. I think the hope is Mutombo can come in and play power forward with his multi faceted game. Assuming Sibley bulks up then minutes would be limited at the 4 and then you have Aminu and company at the wing spots (2-3) Really I don't think we know till Kenner if there is a Kenner and how Mutombo performs.

Ryan is never playing PF here unless something has gone horribly wrong like last year and we’re down to five scholarship players. Just not his game.

Next time you watch a game, a highlight or replay, look for and notice Kobe Clark on the sideline.
The kid looks to be All-Big East as a teammate. He is always smiling, exuding energy, clapping, cheering, supporting his teammates. And he does it without becoming a caricature.
He looks to be a great member of the supporting cast even if his number hasn’t been called much this year.
To clarify, he may not be the only one....he just stands out to me.

Agree, always seems to be first off the bench and fully engaged. Seems like a great teammate.

This kid along with Dante could be the soul of the team. I see him playing a similar role as Jabril and Jagan in time in terms of being a glue guy.

Man I love the "3s"....I see big things for Kobe next season. It seems like he never really recovered from the ankle injury. At least I hope it was physical and not mental.
