Pretty sure calling a player - and a new recruit at that - an idiot will be deleted by tonight. 9797 I don't disagree that Ewing has been terrible and in 98% of programs would be gone. I am not as bitter as you about it but I get it, and don't have a problem with your repeated "reminders" to the Board. But c'mon, calling a teenager an idiot? Of course he is going to say he wants to play for the coach, whether or not that is one of his primary reasons. Choose your battles a little more appropriately. Turns out he’s not a teenager. Yes but Bass and Anglin are...do you consider them idiots?

Turns out he’s not a teenager. Yes but Bass and Anglin are...do you consider them idiots? Unless Georgetown was clearly their best option, their decision making is suspect. Unless they picked GU for the school and basketball is just an add on in which case I’d say they made a great choice.

If Nickelberry doesn’t come here, BM wouldn’t be a Hoya. First things first. The kid himself said he committed because he trusts Patrick Ewing…..that’s a direct quote….so you can try to say it’s because of something else, but those are the words of the kid himself Not exactly how you’re portraying it… “I picked Georgetown because it’s home,” Murray explained. “It’s a program that has a lot of potential and needs to be turned around. The relationship with Coach Nickelberry was a big reason as well. He’s someone that I trust with my life so I know he’s got me. Coach Pat (Ewing) and I have a good relationship and I trust him to turn Georgetown back to what it was.”

If you want to twist the words to fit what you want it to fit, be my guest. My original point is that he sees Ewing in a positive light, and I stand by that, based on what the kid said directly

Turns out he’s not a teenager. He's also not the "idiot" in this case. Sorry, that Ewing is horrible is established fact and anyone who would tie his future to him is an idiot. This is the way it is.

He's also not the "idiot" in this case. Sorry, that Ewing is horrible is established fact and anyone who would tie his future to him is an idiot. This is the way it is. Isn't it equally idiotic then to continue to come on this board every day if you think the program has no future...you must have better things to do. Again the vast vast majority of this board (including myself) do not feel Ewing should be the head coach here any longer. The facts support it...yet here we are...and regardless of what most of us want he is the coach for this team for at least next season. So what are you going to do...take pot shots and resort to name calling to every kid that comes thought the door this off-season? That includes our freshman who obviously are at least partly here because Ewing is the head coach. Explain to me what you are trying to achieve? You just want to come on here and say something antagonistic just to get a response? Crap on every kid that joins the program because you hate Ewing as a coach? You realize you're preaching to the choir right, 98% of the board feels Ewing should be gone it's just that 97% us don't have the time to bitch and moan about it on every single post, every single day. To be honest isn't this exactly what you should want? There is a good chance Nickleberry can bring in the type of talent Ewing has never had. If he fails w/that talent then it's the ultimate sign he is an utter failure as a coach, if the team suceeds then great the team you root for and love is successful.. it is the team your root for right?

You become more pathetic with each post - I don’t think many people disagree with your stance toward the head coach, but my god. Get a life.

Please, please, please stop engaging with 9797. If you all stop responding to him and quoting him and telling him how much you hate Syracuse fans like him - or whatever team he cheers for - then he will go away, or least be easier to ignore. Yes, we are all annoyed that someone who hates Georgetown comments countless times a day, on every thread, to remind us of that fact but that doesn't mean you have to reply. That only encourages him. He will surely reply to this comment, but i wont engage. Let. It. Be.

Yes, because no one has ever excelled despite their coaching. And, if he helps to push the program forward as a result of his participation, that's both admirable and noteworthy. Are there safer paths? Of course. You're still the idiot in this particular case. He's taking a chance on himself and choosing to believe that he can help to turn things around. I respect that. Of course it's easier to go to higher rated programs to try to get some shine. How'd that work out for Akinjo? He's still the exact same player. He'll still never be a draft pick and will be remembered most for his transfers. Some guys believe in themselves enough to try to make a difference. Others choose to go to the coziest situation hoping the situation, more than their contributions, make them look better as opposed to actually being better. Give me 10 of the former types every day of the week and twice on Sunday. Tip of the cap to young Mr. Murray for choosing the less safe path but the path that also offers him the most upside if he performs well.

Going back and reading this thread was quite satisfying. I am glad to see Murray is a Hoya.

Admin, we are getting annoyed by this poster. Now he’s calling people idiots for supporting coach Ewing and the team. This is a very disturbed person.

Do you want GTown to be good or do you want GTown to be bad? Your reaction to GTown getting a good player is very odd. Almost like you don't want good players to come to GTown…..Would you rather have another 6-25 season to ensure that Ewing isn't coaching after next year?

He wants the team to fail so Ewing is gone. It appears to be his life's mission.

Like a pro team fan hoping for losses to improve draft stock, fans come in all types. In a perverse way, it is a level of dedication I couldn’t achieve…if I couldn’t enjoy the BET win, Cuse wins, nice recruiting adds, I’m not sure I could stick around as an active fan. Then again, if you root for bad things to happen, you’ve had some glory years here. hm
