All you need is a coach telling Beard he's going to Georgetown to sit on the bench, lol!

Looks like a Mac HS highlight tape with better comp. In what way do you mean? Mac pretty objectively has a top 10 best HS mixtape of all-time. Obviously you’re not saying they’re a carbon copy, but I really don’t see the comparison other than they’re both guards and are dribbling/shooting a basketball. Mac reminds me of a smaller Austin rivers in how he looks on highlight tapes....Beard is closer to someone like Andre Miller than Mac imo.

Beard moved up 60 spots in the 247 rankings and moved up 13 spots in the composite rankings. His rating is now .9219, up from .9138.

Assuming all these rankings moving up also improved our overall ranking for the 2020 class. I believe we were #40 and now I see us at #37. Can someone confirm that, I just don't recall without a doubt what we were before.

Reading alot of the Vashon people they think Kobe Clark was the most important player on their team because of his unselfishness and how he plays so his ranking makes sense. He didnt average that much over 10ppg in high school. Harris I dont get why his ranking is so low, i can only figure it's because Bobby Maze had so many guards maybe the rankers didnt see the right games.

You're right that is depressing. Never actually thought rankings went that low, thought they stopped at 150 or 200 or at least they should. Don't think any player braggs about being a top 400 recruit.

I've been watching a lot of Harris' games lately on youtube. I would put him somewhere in the 200's if I had throw a number out there. I think he has a nice looking stroke, plus athleticism, and generally good court vision and point guard instincts. That said he is not very efficient yet, struggles to finish against better defenders and his handle is suspect. He shows some nice moves with the ball in his hands but he really starts to struggle when pressed. I say 200s because those kind of guys end up real contributors by their Junior/Senior year, which is about where I have Dante's trajectory. He is a very good fit for our system because he is fast and can put the pedal to the metal when need be. He is the exact kind of point guard that gave us headaches for years under III.

We haven’t finished the season ranked #37 and have barely if even been ranked as high as #37 in the last 6+ years but somehow your expectations exceed that? Very curious on what basis some people form their expectations around here...

Don't think any player braggs about being a top 400 recruit. Does that say more about the rankings systems or more about things you don’t know? Our overall class was ranked 37th....and as much as you’d like to disparage the #400 ranked player it’s still a huge accomplishment and maybe review your math so you can understand that is still elite company. But I guess a hooper like you who was ranked higher can turn his nose up and judge what high school kids should brag about 🙄

I was never a baller but I've always had an opinion just like anyone else and thought I could express it here amongst my fellow nerds without being taken to task, apparently I'm mistaken. I am a Hoya fanatic and my rankings statement simply reflects the reality of where we are now 'we're bottom dwellers' but I'm here for it. And trust me on this, unless we're talking about net worth, being 399 places out of first place is not elite by any stretch.

Well no offense but I shudder to think what your ranking at work is. I mean it’s no huge grievance, but you’re presumably an adult on here diminishing the very real accomplishments of young men you are set to begin playing for what I presume is your favorite team. I was simply trying to give YOU perspective for throwing shade on their ranking acting as if they are hardly accomplishments at all. My opinion is that you’re being way too harsh and that your math needs some work. How many kids do you think play high school basketball? Not to mention rankings are much more political than they are skill based, period. Especially as you get further from the top.

I agree with you that when you use the cohort of high school students vying for D1 spots our lack of recruitment success speaks for itself. Hopeful we can improve over the next two cycles. If not then we should consider moving in a different direction with the coaching staff. Programmatic development depends on recruitment, development, retention and success. Although we can debate the sample size we have not hit in all areas.
