Why did he cut the power dreads?

He didn't he just has them tied with a rubber band. The caption erroneously reads Beard is draining the 3, Beard actually is the player in the clip making the initial pass on the far left of the screen (the assist before the assist if you will) the hockey assist then raising his hand and walking down the court.

I think this young man is an important recruit for coach Ewing. From what I have seen from the videos and a game or two he's a player, a very underrated floor general who can handle, penetrate, dish and finish all with excellent athleticism and speed. Starts day one and effectively replaces Allen and Akinjo.
Also Dante Harris looks legit, should be a good duo for 3-4 seasons.

I agree, totally. There is something about this kid......I am still amazed that he was available so late in the game.

I think Beard looks very promising as a prospect and look forward to watching him develop.

I agree. In the game against Mt. Vernon he looked like the best all around player on the floor. He plays with his brain when he has to and has impressive athleticism. His best game of the year statistically.

Also just watched the Mt Vernon game....very impressive. He can do it all. Just got excited about next year. Would not be surprised to see him make the BE all-rookie team. In fact, I expect it.

With the amount of playing time available, I wouldn’t be surprised if we have more one or more players in the BE All-Frosh team.
