I loved the fact that PE acknowledged that the shots taken by Muresan were good shots If he's going to be a part of the rotation he has to force opponents to guard him as much as possible...

They were good shots. And he may have rushed just a hair, but his form was good. He can contribute a little bit if needed.

They were good shots. And he may have rushed just a hair, but his form was good. He can contribute a little bit if needed. The key today was that he did not get exploited defensively, and he was calm and smart when he had the ball in his hands. That's really all we need from him in the spot minutes we'll likely need over the rest of the season. Any scoring will be a bonus. I also think Azinge might be able to give us a few similar non-damaging, generally competent minutes if necessary.

If players like Muresan and Azinge can be competent (non-train wrecks ) in limited minutes, they will be making a huge contribution. It is clear that Malcolm and Tim are headed for Red shirts, barring dire necessity.

Love that he took the shots that he took in rhythm with the offense.

Agree. Thought he played well al things considered.
No reason he can’t give us 5 mins again as needed. Get a rebound or two. Maybe outback etc.
Was mostly focused on defense and thought we was fine there. Which is great honestly.

Love that he took the shots that he took in rhythm with the offense. In real time, I didn’t like the shots. The first baseline jumper might have been a bit rushed with oncoming pressure but it was not a bad shot. The 2nd from the elbow was with the shot clock below 5 and was a good shot considering the circumstance. I have no idea what his range is and how things look in practice and what would be an appropriate level of shooting confidence is for him.

One minutes playing no Red Shirt (unless under extraordinary circumstances can get a waiver, which is usually family emergency or severe medical issue).

So happy for the Muresan's. Hopefully today's play give George a little more confidence and spark.
I'm really happy for Big Georgie as he is always present at his son's games and heavily involved with their travel teams with helping coaching his son's team, but other teams in their travel team program. He give a lot to many local programs with time and insights.

Wonder if there is any chance, if Tim does not play any more this season, we could submit that the 4 transfers created a short term "emergency" situation requiring us to play Tim for those few minutes, that could somehow qualify for a waiver? A big stretch, I know, but since there is often no rhyme or reason to NCAA determinations . . .

A big stretch, I know, but since there is often no rhyme or reason to NCAA determinations . . . I doubt it. A few years ago an Xavier player had been red shirted the whole season up to the next to last game and due to injuries and fouls the team was out of players and he played 5 minutes. That was it for his red shirt. Basketball in the NCAA is rather strict with red shirt extensions, but football it is far more lenient. But, the request come at the end of eligibility and up to the school to file.

HUGE free throws to ice the game. I'm so happy that he had that moment especially at home and with his dad in attendance. His team needed him and he's a team first guy. When the pressure was on, he delivered. So damn great to see. Congratulations to George. I'm so happy for him and for the fact that he's getting a bit of the spotlight.

Been to countless games over the past 45 years and the crowd reaction to the two free throws at the end yesterday is right at the top of my most favorite moments.

At the end of the game, I high-fived a very happy Big George. Well, it was a "high" five for me at least...

Mentally, it’s not easy to step up and make two in that situation for a limited role player. Amazing! I sat behind his dad at the Syracuse game. He really gets into the games and cheers for all of our guys. He was filming his son on his phone when he got into the game. Very proud father.
