Stealing a PlayStation - sounds about right for a dumb college kid. An expensive camera and camera lens, though? Wonder if there was something on that camera that they wanted to make sure never got leaked, so it was an active pursuit of the camera and then he/they just grabbed the PlayStation while there. If there are texts, voice mails or IMs showing threats, then that would be pretty damning on the other charge, but irrefutable.

Why are so many people going off the assumption that Josh was kicked off the team? Nowhere has any of the information currently released made that claim. The only definitive statements made are that Josh and James are no longer on the team and they have entered the transfer portal. Are we completely ignoring the possibility that they decided to transfer on their own since they were unhappy with the way the season has progressed (I.e playing time, criticism of playing style, being called selfish, etc)? And now, because of that and the resulting announcement, someone went digging and the legal matters are coming to light? I’m not saying there’s no dots to be connected here, but it seems very possible that the dots require connection by rather curvy lines instead of straight ones. This has been my line of thinking as well. The transfer announcement was an unrelated act and resulted in people looking for a "why" which resulted in all of this awfulness coming to surface. My guess is GU was waiting for an investigation to finish before making final decisions, but now is getting pulled into a very messy and bad PR situation it was hoping to avoid. Still so unclear at this point what the hell is happening or happened, just have to wait it out.

If that's the case, he should have probably been dismissed from the team on the spot. That's just dumb and high profile athletes getting hundreds of thousands of dollars' worth of scholarship money should not be doing that.

The poor women involved...if this is all true. The poor players that have been good citizens and teammates and followed the rules...if this is all true. Poor me who was so looking forward to this season

I am a huge Ewing fan and supporter, but we need to hear from him today.

Ok, they are not children but there are reasons we cant say certain things/criticims we say about NBA players or grown men on this board. They are entitled to play ball at Gtown but anyone can make any accusation about any person at any time. Does that mean everyone should get the penalties that come with being guilty over every accusation? What is sensible to some, is not sensible to all. Im just saying that its possible that the wait and see approach may be best. Have U seen Gardners response? The "I have never done any of those things in my life?" There is a student whose name has been dragged through the mud for several pages of this board already, and he may not have been involved.....but who knows? good post and I agree 100%

How do we know what has or has not happened in terms of investigation by the school? I disagree with the concept of immediate suspension based on an untoward accusation. Each case must be evaluated carefully on its merits. Then why suspend him game one to begin with? Or put him on a minutes restriction? If the logic is let them play innocent till proven guilty, then they should have been playing the whole time. we don't even know what Josh was suspended for, though - for all we know it was for his attitude or effort related to practice, grades, etc. The fact that Galen played in the first game despite being also named in the complaints would lead me to believe that Ewing had some other issue with LeBlanc that was the reason for his limited PT.

Posted this in the Akinjo thread as well but probably belongs here too given the dizzying pace that people are posting.
FWIW -

I would think this is an angle that could credibly be utilized by the coaching staff - assuming no evidence to the contrary exists about what Ewing knew and when he knew it. I find it highly implausible, but woiuld be a potential defense Ewing could use.

I've responded to this point later in the thread. We know for sure the school was aware of what happened in September since GUPD was heavily involved throughout the process. If there was something else going on (i.e. grades, tensions with the staff etc...) that combined with the fact that there is a credible allegation that he burglarized and threatened young women at this university is MORE than enough of a reason to suspend him, at the very least until the process plays itself out. As for why Galen and Gardner were allowed to play as well in the first game, it seems at that point those two individuals were not named in any proceedings, at least according to the police report making the rounds today on social media.

Terrance Williams and his team seemed to have an inkling something was up. Wonder what these clowns were up to in the Bahamas? To commit acts like these is morally disgusting and completely moronic.
Look for Mac to potentially double his scoring.
Akinjo was not as good as I hoped and considering the teams condition I don’t blame him for wanting to head back west.

I suppose one could argue that it could have been more, but those are not numbers that scream punishment to me.

I wouldn't argue this strenuously, but it seems arguable that LeBlanc might have not stuck through November (after he sat and received reduced playing time) had he been the moving party. I honestly think all of this is the result of Josh playing 11 minutes in the loss to UNCG. I think he finally had enough and James because he was good friends with him decided if Josh isn’t going to be here then neither to I. Based on the timing and everything we know about the allegation timeline it makes the most sense. If something comes out that materially happened related to the legal matter since Saturday I reserve right to change my opinion. this sounds plausible. Like I've said in other threads though, either way Akinjo just plain quit on his team and coach mid-season rather than accepting the responsibility of leadership, and I've lost a lot of respect for the kid.

We need statements made today by the Coaches or University. The blame game is going on unfairly. I think Josh dismissal of why is clear, we need to know what led to akinjo dismissal.

It increasingly looks like the University, due to its cone of silence policy and its decision to issue a statement on LeBlanc and Akinjo jointly, has looped Akinjo into some heinous allegations, in which he actually played no part. A whole lot of people need to answer for a whole lot of decisions over the last few weeks. Go read Reddit Yeah, I don't think Akinjo being looped in with LeBlanc was accidental.

I have represented many folks over the years on both sides of domestic violence/abuse and crimes, where the victims and alleged perpetrators know each other. In my experience, a good MAJORITY of the accused did in fact commit the offense. However, unlike street crime (where the overwhelming majority are guilty),there are a SUBSTANTIAL MINORITY of folks unjustly accused, due to the potential relationship issues between the parties.
Obviously , I know absolutely nothing about the facts here, and I am very saddened by everything I have read. But a rush to judgement is not prudent, in my opinion at this moment.

Gardner wasn't named until the second complaint on Nov. 12 which included him with the other two guys.
