I've responded to this point later in the thread. We know for sure the school was aware of what happened in September since GUPD was heavily involved throughout the process. If there was something else going on (i.e. grades, tensions with the staff etc...) that combined with the fact that there is a credible allegation that he burglarized and threatened young women at this university is MORE than enough of a reason to suspend him, at the very least until the process plays itself out. As for why Galen and Gardner were allowed to play as well in the first game, it seems at that point those two individuals were not named in any proceedings, at least according to the police report making the rounds today on social media. everything I've read says the Nov. 5 civil lawsuit and motion for TRO was filed on both LeBlanc and Alexander, and game one was Nov. 6. Gardner wasn't named until the second complaint on Nov. 12 which included him with the other two guys. For those who have the time and inclination, this is free and you can search by name, you don't need a docket number. www.dccourts.gov/superior-court/cases-online

I would like to know the reference for Josh Leblanc and James Akinjo entering the transfer portal. It appears only coaches have access to the transfer portal and the team not the players enter the names into the portal. The team has 2 days to enter the students in the transfer portal after the students request to leave the team and transfer. If the player names were in the transfer portal on Monday then presumably they requested to leave the university on Saturday! I would like to see confirmation from media if the players in question are in fact in the transfer portal.
The portal is open only to schools but when players confirm to the media that they are in, it is reported as such. Akinjo self-reported that yesterday evening.--Admin

The Nov. 5th filing is very vague as to Alexander's involvement, Leblanc is clearly the main party focused on.

I have represented many folks over the years on both sides of domestic violence/abuse and crimes, where the victims and alleged perpetrators know each other. In my experience, a good MAJORITY of the accused did in fact commit the offense. However, unlike street crime (where the overwhelming majority are guilty),there are a SUBSTANTIAL MINORITY of folks unjustly accused, due to the potential relationship issues between the parties. Obviously , I know absolutely nothing about the facts here, and I am very saddened by everything I have read. But a rush to judgement is not prudent, in my opinion at this moment. Serious question--is it possible to oppose a rush to judgement and still strongly question whether Josh (at a minimum) should have been playing?

If we start losing our 2020 class, burn it down, burn it all down. What an embarrassment. I spent 8 years of my education at Georgetown and so did my brother. I was a student season ticket holder all 8 years. I say I went to Georgetown to my family and friends with pride. I cannot do that anymore. I told my wife not to wear the Georgetown gear I have gotten her. She was actually starting to like the school and the fact that I love the basketball program, she was looking forward to the Syracuse game. I told her we can't go anymore. This sucks. good grief, relax man. Lol you're relaxed after all this? Fine it's civil lawsuits and accusations right now. We don't know the facts blah blah. But James and Josh are gone, two more may follow. I'll relax if our current recruits decide to still attend Georgetown. I'll relax if we can get some quality recruits to replace our outgoing players. Also there's a list out there and just the fact that this list exists is tarnishing Georgetown's reputation. This is all over social media, national news, etc. This affects everything Georgetown stands for as a basketball program and as a university. Maybe I was a little emotional but maybe that's the appropriate response to all this.

We need statements made today by the Coaches or University. The blame game is going on unfairly. I think Josh dismissal of why is clear, we need to know what led to akinjo dismissal. How do you know they were dismissed?

One thing I see that continues to be overlooked is that the statement from Georgetown Athletics regarding LeBlanc and Ackinjo reads as a season long suspension and not a complete dismissal from the program that Walker and Sodom media releases by the Athletics Department/University clearly stated. I think that's done purposely and is an important fact. The players entering the transfer portal seems to be their choice and might be a reaction to essentially being suspended from the team for the rest of the season... Another point that continues to be overlooked is that these are Civil complaints and law enforcement could have already looked into these matters and found no criminal activity has occurred. The police don't make announcements when there are no arrests to be made. If that is the case then why would they (LeBlanc, Alexander, Gardner) have to be indefinitely suspended by the program and University going back to mid November. I'm still stuck on these alleged incidents occurred in mid September and no arrests or charges have been brought. These are very serious issues that seem like they could be easily investigated and found to be credible. Since no arrest has been made on criminal charges, it leads me to believe there's a lot of noise out there with very little facts. The victims can make claims when petitioning the court for TRO. I'm sure the text messages involved provide backing for the TRO but in terms of criminality, doesn't seem to be much there so far. I'm not saying that nothing happened here and bad judgment wasn't involved, but most of the posters on here and the media has been very click baity with there headlines using words as players facing charges like Adam zagoria of Zagsblog and Rob Daughster of NBC. This leads people to believe that criminal charges have come against these young men. I'll give Aiden Curran of 247 credit he has made sure to address this as it is which is currently a CIVIL MATTER.

I just had an interview with a high school student on Sunday. One of the questions she asked was "what did you not like about Georgetown?" And I could not come up with an answer. Now, even though I am not a student anymore (for a long time), I cannot be so enthusiastic about Georgetown on my interviews. Even so that I am thinking twice about interviewing anymore. I wonder if the applications to Georgetown will go down.

I wonder if Georgetown will follow the University of San Francisco model. Have we reached the level of San Quentin Dailey? Ouch.

By and large, I think most applicants are drawn to Georgetown by its academic reputation and programs. What has been your actual experience why kids apply? I did interviewing 30+ years ago.

I wonder if Georgetown will follow the University of San Francisco model. USF was never the same after they dropped football. It's an second tier player in the Jesuit constellation, even on the west coast. Admission rate: 71%, or about the same as Oklahoma State.

I am to blame. I am a cancerous growth on all of my favorite teams. First it was the Malice in the Palace for my Pacers who were championship caliber as I watched in slow mo the destruction of a franchise. Then it was Hank Baskett and his muffed handling of an onside kick for my beloved Colts. Then a serial rapist at Penn State ruined my love for the school my father went to and I grew up a childhood fan of in football. Next Andrew Luck made the sensible decision for his health only to forget about my fandom as the Colts suffered yet another "what if". Finally it is the Hoyas my alma mater that has crushed my soul as an 18 year season ticket holder and eternal optimist. Now that I have millenialled the crap out of this and made it all about me, you can go back to your regular Hoya rantings.
