Well this sucks. But all you can do is laugh. It's kind of a relief actually because now we can see why Coach was putting out the weird lineups and not playing certain players much. It was so obvious that something was terribly wrong yet people kept trying to say that it was simply to energize the second unit or some crap. I don't think the young women involved are laughing...

Have to say something. People need to know. It's insulting to all fans if they say nothing. Almost as if having fans is a burden on them. They need to speak and say something. No silence anymore. No excuse. I'm not sure that the athletic department has anyone on staff who can properly handle this type of delicate information dissemination. IMO, DiGioia needs to be front and center on communications regarding this apparent illegal conduct with University counsel involved. There is no illegal conduct at this point until charges, if any, are filed. Let's be careful in what we presume. --Admin

This has quickly become about more than basketball and really shouldn't be handled by deleted the AD. Unfortunately, not sure there is anyone better equipped to handle this at a higher level. Someone from the admin has to address this before they take the court on Wednesday (and hopefully very soon). disparaging name calling of university staff deleted

He who was second (unit) shall be first... or something like that. and fans wanted to pounce on Coach smh...maybe they'll lighten up now. This situation may end up being a turning point for the better. Im optimistic. Coach really has to steer the team...cleaning house is bad optics but its clear its been brewing (chemistry) and it is necessary.

With temporary or permanent restraining orders (a roommate my last semester of undergrad had a restraining order on him by his ex-girlfriend she also had one on her) they are put in place when offenses haven't or can't be proven and are trying to protect parties involved.
In college all of the roommates got a talk from the head of student affairs about state law that we needed to keep him away from his ex-girlfriend who was also at the same school. But, also any of us who would talk to her could get our roommate in violation, but also we would be in violation and then have real criminal issues to deal with. The restraining order isn't proof of criminal offense, but usually trying to keep things cool. But, if a person breaks a restraining order it is a crime, but also is a crime for a roommate or friend acting on their behalf.

You seem to be insinuating Pat knew about this and was punishing the players by giving them less playing time. For all of our sakes we better hope that is not the case. It's better for Pat to be an incompetent coach. If these allegations are true there is no such thing as a half punishment which is what you are suggesting.

I don't get though why LeBlanc was the only one seemingly being disciplined? Alexander and Gardner seemed to be getting the playing time one would have thought... I still don't get the timing as it relates to Akinjo then either, as if there were no legal issues, why is he leaving, other than getting off a sinking ship. And even if that's the case, why wouldn't he stay the rest of the year? Does the extra semester buy him earlier eligibility? It would give him earlier eligibility. Five semesters eligibility effective January 2021. --AdminHe would actually be eligible as soon as the fall semester ended in December 2020.

Just out of curiosity, should Jack hold a press conference every time a GU student is charged with something or has an Order of Protection issued against them, or are we owed that because we buy basketball tickets?

Georgetown's manner, for legal reasons, is to release players and normally not comment. Most often what actually happened comes out through news or back channels. Why doesn't Georgetown comment? The same reason for the last 15 to 20 years companies will only state the dates of your employment when applying for a new job, they don't want to be sued. Georgetown also believes in giving its players a second chance with as clean of a second chance as they can publicly.

Lol, you've always wanted Pat and the Thompson's gone haven't you? Innocent till proven guilty I guess that's a foreign concept to you. What was Pat supposed to do when all we have are complaints and no trial or conviction. Get off your high and mighty high horse.

It just seems impossible for Pat to know about Josh and not Galen or Myron. Maybe Myron and Galen are getting this half punishment as well and we just don't know it because they are knew players with no expectations. Or maybe Josh just got sick of his punishment and bailed and James was like see ya I'm with my boy. Then someone went digging for info and now we have a much bigger mess because Galen and Myron and now part of it.

Once his faults became clear i pointed them out. I also had no problem with JT3 until it became clear the freedom of movement rule change killed him. If he was innocent until proven guilty then why was he getting punished at all? Just admit you didn't think out your post and move on. It's better for us all.

If you’re playing kids because they are innocent until proven guilty, so be it. If you’re tossing kids off the team for these allegations, that’s another way to go. Splitting the baby by limiting roles/minutes because of the situation is much harder to justify. Either way, I think we can all agree more information would be appreciated. If they can, I think we’d appreciate something as simple as “we can’t comment further because of ongoing legal proceedings, but 1.) J is dealing with personal issues and has decided to step away from the team/university.” 2.) J has been dismissed from the program for violating team rules.”

This is bigger then basketball. Let it play out before all the Ewing bashers call for him to get fired. From all we know Coach is a High integrity guy, let all the facts come out.
