If you can find an on the record hero at NOAA that says directly he/she was strong armed by the President or by NOAA's senior leadership. as opposed to these Washington Post armies of "off the record cowards" I will be convinced. "I am not convinced Donald Trump is authoritarian" also, this same thread "All of the Fed's power needs to be usurped by the President because they won't do what he says" You know what's going on with the NOAA thing, you know full well that he'll fire anyone who doesn't toe the line, you just want to gaslight everyone here because you think it is fun.

😂😂😂
Their job is to service the Public not the Presidents ego. That's what you seem to be forgetting. Telling scientists not to contradict inaccurate information does not benefit anyone other than the person who is disseminating inaccurate info. The goal is to provide accurate information in order to keep people safe, full stop.

Well, the Washington Post finally has an on the record name attached to a story. I have an open Mind. Let's see what Craig Mclean finds Put aside what he finds for a moment and consider what he said here... “The NWS Forecaster(s) corrected any public misunderstanding in an expert and timely way, as they should,” McLean wrote. “There followed last Friday, an unsigned news release from 'NOAA’ that inappropriately and incorrectly contradicted the NWS forecaster. My understanding is that this intervention to contradict the forecaster was not based on science but on external factors including reputation and appearance, or simply put, political.”The NWS correction McLean is referring to was exactly what your 2-star general tried to shade in a way that didn't make the President look better... McLean called BS on the President and the General in this article... This is the reason why the President is tweeting about canceling visits with the Taliban and fighting with Chrissy Teigen, he's doing anything to change the subject...

Only the Trump people could turn a silly mistake into a scandal of this proportion. It's like their superpower.
Welp....

Makes so much more sense than just saying, "Sorry, folks. I fu@#ed up." ^This.. Now look -Falsely told Congress that census citizenship question originated with DOJ, and not him. -Was behind the administration's embarrassing SCOTUS loss in that case. -Now was reportedly strong-arming NOAA on Trump's behalf. He's already wealthy and doesn't need this job so I'll assume he's just doing this for kicks...

One of his assets, a tranche of stock in investment management firm Invesco Ltd. worth between $10 million and $50 million, went up in value by seven figures during his delay divesting it, a previous Center for Public Integrity investigation found.

So, I guess we're all "believers" that Trump lied, yet again since people are on the record? Yeah, didn't think so.

Senator Crapo-
You are the Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee with jurisdiction over the Federal Reserve Board. There is a serious running policy dispute between the President of the United States and the Federal Reserve Chairman. This is obviously not a good thing for either the US or world economies or for our citizens for obvious reasons. You need to call an immediate hearing of your committee to question the Federal Reserve Chairman under oath as to his reasoning for pursuing the interest rate policies the FED has in effect, if only to prove to the Federal Reserve Chairman that he is accountable in a democracy to the elected government of the United States. It is clear that the Federal Reserve Chairman views himself as completely unaccountable to the US President. What we need to know is if he views himself as completely unaccountable to Congress.
As Lincoln said "A house divided against itself cannot stand". Senator, please use your oversight jurisdiction to resolve this mess.
An "unhappy" hoya.

There are a lot of things the American public needs to know. Chairman Powell needs to be asked under oath what conversations he has with the Chinese, Japanese and European central banks, what data that is not public, the Fed is using in making its decisions, what is the strategy with the Fed balance sheet, why does the US Treasury not issue very long term bonds to take advantage of the current low interest rates (Mnuchin should be called as well) etc. With the visibility of all the these issues, Chairman Powell can no longer sit silent.
I have an open mind-maybe Powell convinces us that the current FED policy is correct. But we, the American people, with this policy dispute elevated as it is, need to know.

Here comes the troll again, starting a new thread when there is already a “FED Independence and Senate Hearings” thread at the top of this board (which you also started). Please take a moment to read the message board rules.
