Earlier in the week. senior wing Fray Nguimbi confirmed to Pittsburgh Sports Now that he would be in attendance on a visit on Saturday. In addition to Nguimbi, according to Houston Wilson of Rivals, Darren Harris will be on campus as well. Harris is another wing, but is only a sophomore in high school at the moment at St. Paul VI Catholic High School in Virginia. The 6-foot-6 prospect prides himself on his shooting and playmaking abilities and is one of the top DMV-area prospects in his class. “I’m a catch-and-shoot guy first, but when I need to, I put the ball on the floor and look to score or make a play,” Harris told 247 Sports in a recent interview. “My defense is improving, I’m unselfish, and just want to win at any cost.” Harris holds offers from George Mason and Georgetown, and also just recently visited Virginia Tech. He is certainly one of the top targets for these the DMV-area schools, and Pitt will try to pry him away from the area. pittsburghsportsnow.com/2021/10/22/report-pitt-hosting-2024-darren-harris-for-unofficial-visit-on-saturday/Harris currently holds offers from Georgetown and George Mason (where his father played), but has some history with the ACC, too. “We watch a lot of ACC. I watch a lot of Duke, and growing up, I watched a lot of VT because I know Erick Green, and it was great to see him kill it at the ACC level.” Virginia Tech guard Erick Green, of course, was the NCAA’s leading scorer in 2013, earning him ACC Player of the Year and All-American honors on his way to being selected in the 2nd Round of the 2013 NBA Draft. As John Calipari and his staff look to add the final pieces to the class of 2022, they now have started to turn their attention to 2023 and 2024. With a host of visitors this past weekend, the staff will welcome another recruit to campus as they try to solidify themselves as one of the top schools on his list. According to Travis Branham of 247 Sports, Class of 2024 big man Somto Cyril will be on campus this weekend for an unofficial visit. Alongside the Kentucky Wildcats, Cyril has already received several offers from some big names around the country, including Memphis, Florida, Kansas, Georgetown, Oklahoma State and Tennessee. An offer has not come from UK. The 6-foot-10, 230-pound center currently plays for Hamilton Heights Christian Academy, which is in Chattanooga (TN). Known to be a physical style of player with a great motor to go alongside his length and athleticism, Cyril has made it known he takes pride in his defense and contributing in any way that he can when it comes to that side of the ball. “My role is just to play good defense for my teammates, get a rebound and block shots,” Cyril described of his game back in July to Branham. www.aseaofblue.com/2021/10/27/22745765/somto-cyril-kentucky-basketball-recruiting-news

Pat, Kirby, and Orr were at the Sleepy Thompson Tournament at St Stephen's and St Agnes school tonight. Looks like they were checking out Archbishop Carroll's 2024 Guard Moses Hipps vs Highland School's 2024 SF Isaiah Abraham (Offer) and 2024 C Patrick Ngongba II (Offer)

Harris has good size at 6-foot-5 with a good looking shot to go along with it. In Saturday's game, Harris hit all five of his threes en route to a 21 points and four rebound performance. In regards to his recruiting, it's still very early in his recruitment but he holds two early offers from Georgetown and George Mason. Harris broke down his early recruitment with 247Sports. Georgetown: “Our relationship is really good. They talk to my parents a lot since they can't speak to me directly until June. I went on a visit there before the season and watched a practice, got a tour and I'm really close with them.” “I saw some clips on how they would use me as a shooter so I like them a lot and think I would fit in well there.” 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/Basketball-recruiting-Darren-Harris-247Sports-National-High-School-Hoopsfest-Georgetown-George-Mason--177488207/

Standing 6-foot-7, Flowers has a bag filled with tools. His most eye-popping tool, you notice immediately in warmups, is his elbow at the rim explosion. After the game gets going, you see how quickly Flowers fills the lanes and switches ends. The Huntington (W.Va.) Prep sophomore can handle as a wing and knock down shots with his feet set. There has been a lot of growth here over the past eight to 12 months, and more could come with the amount of upside Flowers still has. He is currently ranked No. 33 in the initial 2023 Rivals150. Flowers carries close to 15 offers. He has taken unofficial visits to Georgetown, Xavier and Cincinnati. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/shaw-s-takeaways-national-high-school-hoops-festival
