How are we behind a school like Rutgers? Just goes to show we are still a mid to lower level D1 program. I’ll need to look but I’m sure Ewing was never out recruited by a school like Rutgers….. Above is complete sarcasm and a joke. Amazing job so far fromthe new staff.

"MASSIVE SIZE, MASSIVE POTENTIAL: Peyton Marshall What he did: Marshall is all of 7-feet and 310 pounds, but his agility and footwork around the rim is that of a lighter prospect. Obviously, Marshall needs to do some work to reshape his body to avoid fatigue and being a defensive liability but his combination of size and agility give him a chance to be a dominant force if he continues to put in the work to drop weight. Saturday saw the Kell High School big man show off his soft touch around the rim and a nimble low post move or two on his way to a 22-point, 11-rebound performance that carried his squad to its second victory of the weekend. Recruitment: Auburn, Penn State, Georgetown and Stanford are among the programs seriously involved with Marshall. He has set no timetable for a commitment." basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/cassidy-awards-holiday-hoopsgiving"Missouri landed its second commitment of the week on Friday, when four-star big man Peyton Marshall made the call for the Tigers. "Sir Mohammed, a four-star small forward in the class of 2024, has set the following three official visits: Marquette on June 5-7, Notre Dame on June 18-19, and Virginia Tech on July 28-30... Marquette: “Their staff has been great to me so far. You know, they’ve been here watching me, and they came in on an in-home visit, and I really just connected with their coaches. You saw their success this year, so I trust what they’re doing there.” Notre Dame: “My relationship with Coach (Micah) Shrewsberry has been great the whole time, even throughout the switch. I love the staff there. He sees me as a lead guard who can do a lot on the floor. He sees me doing a lot of the same things I do with Team Curry.” Virginia Tech: “For me, Virginia Tech has been on me since I was a pup. They started talking to us in the fall of my sophomore year. They’ve made me feel like family. And they trust me as a lead guard. A lot of schools don’t think I’m a lead guard. I appreciate them for that.” www.on3.com/news/sir-mohammed-sets-3-official-visits-marquette-notre-dame-virginia-tech/"Sir Mohammed has been consistent in his praise for Notre Dame coach Micah Shrewberry throughout his recruitment and echoed those sentiments over the last three days at the Under Armour Elite 24 in Atlanta. On Saturday, he took his adoration for all things Fighting Irish to the next level, announcing his commitment to Notre Dame just before halftime on Saturday. Mohammed, who checks in at No. 57 overall in the Rivals150, picked the Fighting Irish over Marquette, Villanova, Stanford and Virginia Tech." basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/four-star-sg-sir-mohammed-commits-to-notre-dame

Boya, of the ‘24 Hoya verbals and the 6 new scholarship players, do you know how many were previously recruited by Coach Cooley when he was at Providence? Mulready and Fielder are the most obvious - but Epps for sure as well. Each of those players was at one time committed to Providence under Cooley. Upon further review, it's clear Brumbaugh was also recruited by Cooley at Providence: Brumbaugh: "Despite attending school in Massachusetts, Brumbaugh is originally from the Washington, D.C. area. He received early offers from Georgetown, Richmond, George Washington, and Virginia Tech and a handful of Ivy League schools, with Princeton in particular at the forefront. Brumbaugh listed Wisconsin as a school coming very hard after him recently, while mentioning a handful of new interest from the Big Ten (Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Northwestern). When AAU play resumed, he continued to blow up. Additional offers came in from Wichita State, Mississippi State, Seton Hall, Marquette, Northwestern, West Virginia, Butler, Minnesota, Georgia Tech, Oregon, Penn State, Providence, and Xavier — they kept coming the more exposure Brumbaugh received. The next wave was Creighton, Miami, Maryland, Kansas, and Texas, along with interest from Duke and Virginia. Georgetown, which stood out as an attractive close-to-home option along with Maryland, got Brumbaugh’s first official visit back on June 9th" www.buckys5thquarter.com/pages/rowan-brumbaughSorber was another recruited by Cooley at Providence: The others, specifically Styles, Massoud, Cook, McKenna and Williams, do not appear to have been significantly recruited (or at least offered) by Cooley while he was at Providence.

"1. Jalil Bethea CLASS: 2024 TEAM: Team Final (Nike EYBL) WHY YOU SHOULD CARE: Because he is shooting up the rankings. One of the hottest backcourt names in the country, Bethea jumped 41 spots in the last rankings refresh, but his play as of late suggests that may not have been enough. The Pennsylvania product has long been known as a reliable shooter, but he seems to be making strides when it comes to shot creation and giving effort on the defensive end. He currently sits at No. 39 in the Rivals150, and is well on his way to improving that mark because of his versatility. If Bethea proves to be a real option at the point, then the top 20 is not out of reach." basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/i-ve-got-five-on-it-players-to-watch-this-grassroots-seasonRECRUITMENT: Bethea holds a pile of major offers, including schools such as Syracuse, Villanova, UCLA and Miami. "That production is a carryover from the high school season where Bethea pumped in 23 points, six rebounds and four assists for Archbishop Wood (Warminster, Penn.). Those numbers had Rutgers, UCLA, West Virginia, Miami, Syracuse, Michigan, Alabama, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Georgetown, among many others, parked courtside to watch Bethea on Saturday. All are applying the full-court recruiting press. Bethea has taken official visits to Temple and Syracuse and unofficials to Penn State and Rutgers. Once he gets a slowdown in his spring ball travel schedule, Bethea said he’ll set a visit to Miami “soon.” While he has yet to make a cut to his list, Bethea said he’s “not waiting for any specific offers." Instead his approach is to remain open to schools that want to jump into the mix. “My options are open,” Bethea said. “I want to have different options so I’ll be able to make the best decision for me.” basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/four-star-jalil-bethea-s-eybl-games-drew-a-crowd-of-coaches"Miami continued its recruiting hot streak on Wednesday by landing its biggest yet, as No. 17 overall prospect Jalil Bethea announced his commitment to the Hurricanes. "2. I THINK EITHER JASON SONON OR JASPER JOHNSON – OR BOTH – WILL RECLASSIFY TO 2024. Reclassification rumors are fickle and have a tendency to waffle from week to week, but both Sonon and Johnson have been the subject of reclassification rumors over the past month. For now, it seems as though Johnson is the most likely candidate, but it seems safe to say that at least one of the two 2025 prospects will find themselves in the class of 2024 before all is said and done. Johnson remains uncommitted and is considering schools such as Cincinnati, West Virginia, Baylor, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Kentucky and others. Sonon is interested in schools such as UConn, Alabama, Georgetown, Marquette, Kansas and Illinois." basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/what-cassidy-knows-and-what-he-thinks-he-knows

"Four-star PG Bishop Boswell (Team CP3) is one of those guys who simply makes plays, and that is his appeal. The point guard touched the paint, where he delivered consistent reads. He also knocked down shots at each level. He finished with 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists in the win." www.on3.com/news/peach-jam-day-1-top-performers/"Boswell said he will try and work in a trip to South Carolina, which has just one commit for the Class of 2024. He can play both shooting and point guard but has mainly been a point guard with CP3 and in high school at Myers Park in Charlotte. South Carolina is the latest to reach out to Boswell, a 6-foot-4 combo guard who is ranked as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports Composite and ninth-best player in North Carolina. Other schools interested include Georgetown, Georgia, Missouri, Xavier, LSU, Miami and Wake Forest. Boswell, the No. 67 player in the class, has taken official visits to Missouri and Xavier and unofficial visits to Georgia and Wake Forest." www.heraldonline.com/sports/college/sec/university-of-south-carolina/article277050903.html#storylink=cpy"Another member of Myers Park's loaded 2024 class has committed to play at a high-level college basketball program. 4-star combo guard Bishop Boswell announced his pledge to the University of Tennessee on Thursday evening... "Kyle 'KJ' Greene had himself a big Saturday night as he poured in 25-points and tallied three assists on his way to a win over Dayton (Ohio) Chaminade Julienne at Flyin to the Hoop. With his standout play, the 6-foot-1 guard out of Atlanta (Ga.) Pace Academy said his recruitment is starting to gain more traction with it... Three schools he has been in constant contact with include Clemson, South Carolina and Georgetown. He's originally from the state of South Carolina and has already been on two unofficials to both home-state teams and also took an official to Georgetown... Georgetown: "Even though it's a rough season they keep in touch up there. Coach Nickelberry and coach Ewing, I talk to them a lot. The visit was nice. It's a beautiful campus, great facilities, the coaches they had the years of experience playing and coaching the game, it's always good to be in an environment to be around guys basketball minded."... "I would like to visit on an official to Clemson, Ole Miss and Pitt maybe," said Greene. 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/2024-four-star-guard-KJ-Greene-updates-the-latest-in-his-recruitment-203188216/“I’ve only taken the one official visit to Georgetown,” Greene said. “I’ve gone on unofficals to South Carolina and Clemson. I’m talking to Tennessee, with Julian (Phillips) there, maybe a Pittsburgh and maybe like an Ole Miss. Georgetown: “The relationship I built with Coach (Kevin) Nickelberry and Patrick Ewing himself has really stood out to me. My granddad lives up there, and that is another reason I wanted to get up there. Coach Nickelberry keeps it straight with me. It was a place I really wanted to see.” www.on3.com/news/kyle-greene-jr-speaks-on-visits-and-his-recruitment-south-carolina-clemson-pittsburgh-georgetown-ole-miss/ “I haven’t taken any visits yet,” Greene said. “I’m talking pretty regularly with South Carolina and Clemson about setting up visits. Charleston wants me to come on one as well.”... Charleston: “The culture there stands out. The coach, Pat Kelsey, is an energy guy. You see him on Twitter; he’s really engaging. I really like his personality. The assistants, they all just have a lot of personalities down there. It feels like you’re not just talking to a coach, but you’re talking to a person. I love the way they play too. Their whole team plays really hard. They like to shoot the ball, and they let their guards play with freedom.” “The new staff at Georgetown is in contact,” KJ Greene said. “I’m recently hearing from Florida State and Florida, too, so we’ll see where those go.”... “I’m looking for a place I can thrive. I want a school that isn’t strictly basketball but also has some academic merit to it. Those are the two main things. The relationship I have with the coaching staff will be huge too. Got to have trust and a relationship with the coaches.” www.on3.com/news/kj-greene-says-clemson-and-south-carolina-are-among-schools-standing-out/"KJ Greene, No. 93 in the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking, officially committed to UCF on Friday. The 6-foot-2, 175-pound point guard out of Atlanta (GA) Pace Academy also took official visits to Georgetown, Florida State, and Siena." www.on3.com/college/ucf-knights/news/kj-greene-a-four-star-pg-commits-to-ucf/

"One of the day’s most pleasant surprises, former five-star prospect Jahki Howard seems to have bounced back from an uneven season a year ago and looked more like his old self on Friday night. Howard rattled off a 22-point, 11-rebound masterpiece of sorts to lead his New Heights Lightning Team over Nightrydas Elite and looks poised, hyper-athletic and motivated in the process. Howard was an efficient 8-for-12 from the floor in the contest and showed off some court vision and creative passing. “I actually just set up a Georgetown visit on May 8 and I’m excited,” Howard said following the game. “I don’t know a lot yet. I just know a lot about the history and the new coaching staff, so I’m excited to get up there and get to know the area and all that.” Howard says that NC State, Kansas, UConn and Arkansas have been in recent contact as well. He hopes to make a commitment sometime in July if all goes well." basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/cassidy-s-takeaways-recruiting-whispers-from-phoenixSeems like he’s our to lose if we put the full court press on him. "One of the more intriguing upside prospects in the 2024 class, Jahki Howard has settled into his new home at Overtime Elite and is shining as a versatile wing capable of playing a number of roles at the college level. The four-star wing's recruitment is nowhere near its conclusion, though, as new schools seem to be signaling interest these days. Rivals recently spoke with Howard about where things stand and which programs he’s considering... ON THE NEW GEORGIA TECH STAFF: “Coach [Damon] Stoudamire is a great coach. I also play with a Georgia Tech commit, Jaeden Mustaf, who is on me about Tech. Jaeden tried to encourage me to go there. He wants me to commit there. The biggest thing the staff tells me is just to keep working hard. They feel like a family there, and that’s how they treat me.” ON WHAT HE WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING AT AUBURN: “I’m just really hoping to see how the staff is, how they do stuff and how they practice. Also, my other teammate – my teammate during the summer – Tahaad Pettiford is going there, so he tells me about it.” ON OTHER SCHOOLS IN THE MIX: “I visited Arizona State recently. USC has been talking to me, too. Arkansas, too.” basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/georgia-tech-arizona-state-auburn-involved-with-jahki-howard

Howard has rededicated himself to his craft and seems to shine on both ends of the floor every time I see him these days. Some schools cooled on him a bit during his junior season, but the interest is returning as of late due to Howard proving able to shoot it from deep, play smothering defense and impact games. I feel like the four-star wing’s recruitment could become crowded as schools look to fill scholarships late in the cycle.
