"Four-star SF Jahki Howard (Overtime Elite/GA) continues to round out his game, proving to be a good spot shooter. This is a nice development for someone known for the explosion and dunking. There is a three-and-D archetype he could be tapping into, which becomes intriguing." www.on3.com/news/nbpa-top-100-camp-day-1-top-performers/"Stock Up: NBPA Top 100 Camp... Four-star SF Jahki Howard Jahki Howard has been a name that is on the radar for a long while. His explosive leaping ability has made many highlight reels. While he did a lot of that, what intrigued in this setting was the comfort with which he was shooting the ball. Howard played aggressively in the passing lanes, using his athleticism and explosion to turn defense into offense quickly. If he can continue to work toward the three-and-D player archetype, he can find a lot of value in his game. The leaping and the high-flying exploits remain show-stopping. Howard is the No. 68 player in the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking. The 6-foot-6 small forward averaged 16.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.0 steals during day one of the event. He did not suit up for day two." www.on3.com/news/stock-up-nbpa-top-100-camp/

"Four-star PG Bishop Boswell (Team CP3) is one of those guys who simply makes plays, and that is his appeal. The point guard touched the paint, where he delivered consistent reads. He also knocked down shots at each level. He finished with 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists in the win." www.on3.com/news/peach-jam-day-1-top-performers/"Boswell said he will try and work in a trip to South Carolina, which has just one commit for the Class of 2024. He can play both shooting and point guard but has mainly been a point guard with CP3 and in high school at Myers Park in Charlotte. South Carolina is the latest to reach out to Boswell, a 6-foot-4 combo guard who is ranked as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports Composite and ninth-best player in North Carolina. Other schools interested include Georgetown, Georgia, Missouri, Xavier, LSU, Miami and Wake Forest. Boswell, the No. 67 player in the class, has taken official visits to Missouri and Xavier and unofficial visits to Georgia and Wake Forest." www.heraldonline.com/sports/college/sec/university-of-south-carolina/article277050903.html#storylink=cpy

"With his AAU season winding down, KJ Greene is ready to focus on the recruiting process... Three of Greene’s official visits likely will be at in-state schools South Carolina, Clemson and College of Charleston. All three schools have been recruiting him heavily and were on-hand for his team with Upward Stars AAU team Thursday at the adidas 3SSB Championships and Rock Sports and Events Center. Greene said he also will likely visit Pitt, Central Florida and Florida State. NCAA rules allow players to take unlimited amounts of visits. He has taken only one official visit to Georgetown, in November. That was before the Hoyas fired coach Patrick Ewing. Of his official visits, Greene plans to have South Carolina as the final one." www.thestate.com/sports/college/university-of-south-carolina/usc-recruiting/article277079208.html#storylink=cpy

"ATLANTA - Another event taking place during the live period window is the NBA Academy Games. Featuring the majority of the players in the NBA's system of international academies, it as a terrific showcase for overseas talent. Among the most promising big men in attendance is 6-foot-11 230 pounder Ulrich Chomche. 247Sports was first able to see Chomche last winter at the Tarkanian Classic where his size, length, athleticism and rim protection stood out... Chomche said that he's been receiving interest from Arizona, Georgetown, Washington and Xavier among others. During the winter he was on campus at Arizona and a few months ago he took in Washington." 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/article/college-basketball-recruiting-nba-africa-academy-big-man-ulrich--212570535/

“This will sound weird because certainly this guy isn’t lacking for offers, but I think Jalil Bethea still has a few big offers to grab. He’s been consistent all spring and dominant thus far at the NBPA Top 100 Camp. Bethea is proving his mettle as a fringe top 10 prospect, jumping 24 spots to No. 15 overall in the latest Rivals 150. He’s already set up two officials (Kansas and LSU) and plans to cut his list after Peach Jam, which means the big boys will have to jump in quickly.” - Jordan basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/rivals-roundtable-recruiting-locks-july-live-period-questions"The Team Final three headed backcourt monster of Jalil Bethea, Ahmad Nowell and Rob Wright came up big in a win over the New Heights Lightning. Nowell was physical and tough while handing out nine assists but it was Bethea and Wright who stole the show. A smooth scorer who recently rose into the national top 25, Bethea backed up the hype scoring 31 points and grabbing six rebounds. He’s a lights out shooter from deep and looks more athletic each time out. As for the Baylor committed Wright, he came out on fire early making his first five from three and finished with 26 points, seven rebounds and three assists of his own." 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/longformarticle/college-basketball-recruiting-peach-jam-tuesday-mokan-elite-brad-212443806/#2192516“I’ve taken two official visits,” Bethea said. “Both of my Temple and Syracuse visits were with their old staff, though. Syracuse is still involved, though. Right now, I only have one official visit set coming up. I’m going to Kansas on August 31.”... “I’m talking with Miami about a visit,”: Bethea said. “I am thinking about maybe going on another visit to Syracuse and maybe somewhere like Alabama.”... “Kentucky and Michigan are both hitting me up some,” Bethea said. “Neither of them has offered yet; not sure where that is going.” www.on3.com/news/jalil-bethea-updates-recruitment-talks-alabama-syracuse-miami-kansas/

"This year, we had another player breakout that plans to take the college route and is one you need to know about - Johnny Furphy. "It's such an amazing experience to come out here and play against people from all around the world," Furphy said of his experience at the NBA Academy Games. "It's not something you get to do everyday so I am enjoying it and getting as much out of it as I can and enjoying the competition."... Well, after going under-recruited in 2023, Furphy is making his dream a reality after the NBA Academy Games having earned offers from Kansas, Georgetown, College of Charleston, Providence, Marquette and Ole Miss already. However the offers aren't done rolling in as Duke, North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Gonzaga, UCLA, Oklahoma, UCF, Texas Tech, Santa Clara and Colorado have all also expressed heavy interest in the breakout recruit." 247sports.com/Article/Johnny-Furphy-joins-prestigious-list-of-breakout-NBA-Academy-stars-212670580/

A near 6-foot-8 small forward from Australia, Furphy was the talk of the NBA Global Academy event thanks to his skill level, shooting and ability to make plays for himself and others with the ball in his hands. For the Sportradar Showdown, the Global Academy put together a team of their best players from the event and competed as a group. While playing time was spread pretty evenly so that each player could showcase their game, Furphy was again a major standout. Particularly when he received extended playing time during a Saturday afternoon game against Indiana Elite. Furphy shot it with confidence from deep. He put the ball on the deck and attacked the rim, he made plays for others and he looked like a pretty high-level guy. To make things more interesting, it is sounding more and more like Furphy will actually make his way to the States as a member of the class of 2023. We spotted head coaches from Duke, Gonzaga, Kansas, North Carolina, Providence, UCLA and many others taking in his games and he confirmed to 247Sports that he’s looking into making 2023 happen and that visits could be set up quite soon. Once those visits are in place, this is a recruitment that we could see moving to a quick conclusion." 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/longformarticle/college-basketball-recruiting-las-vegas-live-period-vj-edgecombe-johnny-furphy-khani-rooths-and-more-212904480/#2197511

"Boogie Fland, a 6-foot-3, 175-pound point guard out of White Plains (NY) Archbishop Stepinac, ranks as the No. 9 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Consensus. He’s also ranked as the No. 1 point guard nationally... At the City of Palms Classic in Florida, Fland recapped his recent official visit to Chapel Hill. “It was a good first visit,” Fland said. “I’m definitely looking forward to more. Coach (Hubert) Davis is a great guy and has a good head on his shoulders. I love the way he coaches.” Fland says he hopes to take more college visits after his high school season is finished, but is unsure of where he’ll go. However, he says he will “most likely” wait until his senior year to make a commitment. In addition to North Carolina, Fland has also received offers from Kentucky, Auburn, Georgetown, Villanova, Oklahoma, Louisville, Michigan, Florida, LSU, Oregon, Kansas, Indiana, and others." www.on3.com/college/north-carolina-tar-heels/news/boogie-fland-recaps-visit-to-north-carolina/"Businessman, philanthropist and top SU booster Adam Weitsman tells me that he is discussing a combined multi-year, seven-figure name, image and likeness agreement with new Syracuse basketball recruiting target Boogie Fland and his family... As we wrote about on Saturday, Adam Weitsman has shared with me that he has signed NIL agreements with eight existing Syracuse Orange players in men’s basketball, women’s basketball and football. Weitsman is also in the process of completing NIL deals with five additional SU student-athletes. Collectively, these 13 NIL packages total more than $1 million, he says. Separately, as we discussed in another recent column, as it pertains to NIL, Adam Weitsman is extremely high on 2024 four-star shooting guard Elijah Moore from New York." Curious what others thoughts are on the 2024 recruiting class... The tea leaves seem to be pretty confident that we're getting McKenna. That's Sorber, Mulready and let's assume McKenna as well. Do you guys think we aim for 1 more 2024 kid, or 2 more? I'm in the camp that the 2024 class is so strong, that we aim for 2 more kids. I'm curious who you guys think we're most likely to get of the below list of players? This is who you think we're most likely to get, not who you want us to get the most... Jakhi Howard Caleb Williams A.J. Swinton Jalil Bethea Austin Swartz Bishop Boswell I think we're most likely to get Swinton and Howard from this list, Boswell in third. I don't get the feeling we're in the greatest of positions with Swartz, Bethea and Caleb. "Jalil Bethea, the No. 19 overall prospect in the class of 2024 is down to five schools. The 6-foot-4 shooting guard from Philadelphia (Pa.) is down to Syracuse, Miami, Kansas, Alabama and Villanova." 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/article/jalil-bethea-villanova-syracuse-kansas-miami-alabama-212991282/
