Juwan Howard got his man. Michigan basketball had long been after South Kent (Conn.) School four-star center Papa Kante, who had visited Ann Arbor multiple times. Rated the No. 91 player in the country according to 247Sports’ proprietary rankings, as well as the 12th-best center in the country, Kante seemed to keep trending towards the Wolverines, but without pulling the trigger. With offers from schools such as Maryland, Kansas, Georgetown, Illinois, Tennessee, and Syracuse, Kante appeared to keep his options open. wolverineswire.usatoday.com/2022/10/20/michigan-basketball-recruiting-papa-kante-commits-to-wolverines/

Georgetown, Maryland, Marquette, VCU, Iowa, Kansas State, LSU, Xavier, St. John's, Seton Hall and others have all been in steady pursuit of 6-foot-6 guard Aaron Clark. The NY Rens guard opened eyes during the Nike EYBL Session II in Indiana earlier this off-season, scoring off the ball and also proving he can orchestrate the offensive flow and feed the post. Now at national prep power Brewster Academy (NH), the Class of 2023 Clark is a left handed shot maker with range and a knack for timely, fireball assists. uga.rivals.com/news/hoyas-on-prowl-for-talented-guards"Wake Forest secured the commitment of four-star guard Aaron Clark on Monday night, landing the Brewster Academy senior over fellow finalist Miami." basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/wake-forest-lands-four-star-guard-aaron-clark

Anyone know where we stand here besides Miranda? Seems like we really need a C or another stretch 4 assuming we only lose Q/Mozone/unknown transfer or Murray goes pro.

I think the plan is to just restart every season with portal guys. And the reason I am becoming less and less interested in college basketball in general, and Hoya basketball in particular. Let's see how long I can hang on. . .

Auburn, Texas, Seton Hall, and Arkansas are among the schools prioritizing the five star big man and he spoke some schools with 247Sports. Auburn: “I had a really good visit. I enjoyed it. I had fun going around campus, talking to the coaches and I seeing the players. They’re message was to keep playing hard and doing my thing. For them they’re hoping I land there and that we can work to get me to the next level the best way.” Arkansas: “When I went to Arkansas it was when they played a game against Kenutcky and I’ve never seen fans go crazy like that. The facilities were also good and what they had on the table.” Seton Hall: “It was good getting out there in New Jersey talking with the coaches. They said the good stuff. It was good to hear what they planned on having me do if I end up there.” 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/Basketball-recruiting-Baye-Fall-Auburn-Seton-Hall-Texas-Rutgers-190039887/5-star Baye Fall (C) On3 Consensus Ranking: No. 9 Accelerated Schools Aka Family Services Found (CO) | Class of 2023 Which schools are recruiting you the hardest? In the same month, I’ll visit Rutgers, and I also want to revisit Arkansas and Seton Hall. Did you have a dream school growing up? Not really. Is there anybody you’d like to team up with in college or is anyone recruiting you to join them? I want to play with Assane Diop (cousin) if it’s possible but other than that, a couple of guys have told me that they want to team up with me. www.on3.com/news/top-prospects-go-on-record-about-their-recruitment/Baye Fall, a top 20 prospect in the class of 2023 is down to four schools. "No player in this class is more newsworthy than Bronny James, the son of the most famous basketball player on Earth. Anything resembling news about the four-star guard moves the needle because of how quiet his recruitment has been kept to this point. His lone official visit has been to Ohio State, so the Buckeyes are the team to watch if the younger James is to pull the trigger during the early period. An early decision would come as a surprise, however, as most think Bronny will take additional official visits before deciding on a school. That said, James’ recruitment hasn’t been a traditional one by any stretch, so a surprise or two isn’t out of the question. Oregon and Memphis are among the teams that join Ohio State on the list of programs to watch." basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/early-signing-period-storylines-to-watch-1

Looking like 2023 may be another portal year. Perhaps, a high school senior will shake loose with a coaching change.

Evans reports that James, the son of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, will make his college commitment once the high school basketball season ends this spring. 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/Bronny-James-has-Ohio-State-Oregon-USC-in-top-3-will-commit-after-high-school-basketball-season-per-report-203331181/

I get Ewing but shouldn't the assistant coaches still be out there, you know, recruiting?
