Josh Hubbard has an electric factor to his game. The Team Thad guard is pushing to break the Mississippi state high school scoring record this season, and that nose for the bucket has not slowed down on the EYBL Circuit. Hubbard averages 16.3 points per game while shooting 35-percent from three. The 6-foot-0 guard showcases an innate toughness about him that keeps attacking at Peach Jam. Hubbard currently claims offers from Ole Miss, Xavier, Kansas State, and others. www.on3.com/news/shaws-sights-and-sounds-peach-jams-x-factors-who-help-teams-win-games/Class of 2023 four-star point guard Josh Hubbard tells On3 he’s down to six schools — Mississippi State, Ole Miss, USC, Houston, Xavier, and Seton Hall. Xavier: Coach (Sean) Miller is the head coach at Xavier and reached out to me one day after seeing me at a tournament this summer.” Seton Hall: “Seton Hall offered me this summer after a game. Coach (Shaheen) Hollaway is also the new coach for the program and he told me he loved my game.” www.on3.com/news/4-star-point-guard-josh-hubbard-down-to-six-schools/

McDowell took his first official visit last month to Wake Forest and was impressed with what he found in Winston-Salem, where third-year head coach Steve Forbes is leading a Demon Deacon resurgence. “Definitely Wake Forest is one of my top priorities, for sure,” McDowell said. “They were the first visit I went on and the second high-major program to offer me. I feel like I have a real relationship with those guys. “I got to see all of campus, where the players live, the arena and the practice facility — everywhere I would be. I’d never been to North Carolina before, but it was really nice. We hit several good food spots, and one of the doughnut places we hit — whoa, it was good. I was able to hang out at coach Forbes house and have dinner, which was really nice. It was an all-around great trip.” McDowell has offers from the likes of Rutgers, Alabama, Mississippi State, Kansas State, Georgetown, Kansas, Ole Miss, Washington State, Texas A&M, TCU and Xavier in addition to Wake Forest. McDowell recently told 247Sports’ Travis Branham that Minnesota, Xavier, Wake Forest, Texas A&M have been prioritizing him the most, and he’s set to visit Texas A&M this coming weekend. 247sports.com/college/wake-forest/Article/Texas-4-star-guard-Jamari-McDowell-recaps-Wake-Forest-visit--190575941/

Dennis Parker, a 6-foot-6 wing out of Richmond (Va.) John Marshall, had a productive first weekend of the high school live period in June. As of now Parker is currently being prioritized by Oklahoma State, Mississippi State, Georgia State, Georgetown among others. Georgetown: “Coach Nick and Patrick Ewing came out to see me and It meant a lot especially from Patrick Ewing. He’s a legend and I’m thankful and blessed with this opportunity.” Oklahoma State: “I plan on taking a visit to Oklahoma State soon probably late summer or late fall. Coach Larry Blunt and I have been in consistent contact since early last year.” “I would say I’m not that deep into the recruitment process,” he said. “I’m still really open to it. I’m looking forward to taking visits both official and unofficial getting to see college campuses. My decision won’t come any time soon probably during the high school season.” 247sports.com/college/basketball/recruiting/Article/Basketball-recruiting-Dennis-Parker-Oklahoma-State-Georgetown-189189611/

Good point, but for some reason that seldom seems to matter to players.

Good point, but for some reason that seldom seems to matter to players. I don't know if any possible NCAA sanction may include inelgibility for the NCAAT. One would think that might matter to a recruit but who knows?

One of the most promising prospects in the class of 2023, KJ Evans doesn’t lack options. He holds offers from major programs that span conferences and time zones, but the five-star forward’s interest seems particularly piqued by three programs. On Saturday, Evans says he hopes to visit Oregon, Texas and Indiana in the coming months. Evans has been in frequent contact with all three programs and intends to finalize dates for trips as the high school season winds down. And while it will be up to the schools’ respective coaching staffs to ultimately land Evans’ commitment, the Hoosiers and Longhorns have help in the form of Evans’ teammates Indiana pledge Jalen Hood-Schifino and Texas signee Dillon Mitchell. “Jalen just tells me it’s really nice there and I’d like it at Indiana,” Evans said. “It’s the same with Dillon and Texas, too. They stay on me.” basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/cassidy-s-takeaways-hoophall-classicAnother five-star prospect came off the board on Tuesday, when wing KJ Evans announced his intention to sign with Oregon. The recruiting victory is a massive one for Ducks head coach Dana Altman, as he was able to hold off a charge by red-hot Arizona down the stretch. IN HIS WORDS “I loved the visit and they're just cool people to talk to. The coaches are really easy to talk to, so the communication between them and us is a big plus. It’s great.” – Evans to Rivals.com last month “I really like Oregon because their coaching staff has been in contact with me more than anyone else recently. I talk to Coach (Chris) Crutchfield the most from there. I like their whole staff and I want to go check it out. I’m planning a visit there soon. They want me to come in and produce right away and they’ll have players there that can help me if I go there. They want to develop me for the NBA because they put some guys in there. They just want to win, too.” – Evans to Rivals.com this spring basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/commitment-breakdown-oregon-lands-five-star-kj-evans

Isaiah Coleman, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard at National Christian Academy in Maryland, is a four-star prospect ranked No. 54 overall in the 247Sports Composite. He’s No. 13 among shooting guards and No. 1 overall in the state of Maryland. His former National Christian Academy coach, Kenny Johnson, was recently hired at Rhode Island. He has local offers from Georgetown, Maryland and VCU, along with offers from Virginia Tech and Miami. “The long 6-foot-5 guard can put the ball in the hole and made shots all day long,” 247Sports National Basketball Analyst Travis Branham wrote of Coleman after the first live-evaluation period this month. “He created separation off the dribble, connected from deep and got in the paint scoring inside the arc.” 247sports.com/college/tennessee/LongFormArticle/Tennessee-Vols-Basketball-Recruiting-2023-Justin-Edwards-JP-Estrella-Freddie-Dilione-Coen-Carr-189989953/#189989953_10Class of 2023 four-star prospect Isaiah Coleman tells On3 he will announce his college decision on his birthday, September 4th. The 6-foot-5 shooting guard recently transferred from National Christian Academy (Md.) to Word of God (N.C.). Coleman, who’s originally from Fredericksburgh, Va., is fresh off an official visit to Mississippi State. He recently picked up an offer from Auburn, to go along with scholarships from Miami, Maryland, Georgetown, Xavier, and others. What’s Coleman looking for in a school? “I am going to be looking at the style of play,” Coleman said. “If a school gets up and down and focuses on defense, getting stops, that’s it. Relationships always matter. Relationships will play a major role in my decision.” www.on3.com/news/four-star-guard-isaiah-coleman-sets-commitment-date/

Dennis Evans, the 7-foot-1, 210-pound center from Hillcrest High School in Riverside, Calif., is one of the most heavily coveted prospects in the 2023 class. However, that wasn’t always the case for the No. 12 ranked player in the class. “Dennis really isn’t into the blue blood programs,” he continued. “Kansas is probably it (when it comes to the blue blood programs recruiting Dennis Evans), because he has a relationship with Kurtis Townsend.” Currently, Kansas, TCU, Minnesota, California Riverside, Missouri, Florida State, San Diego State, Texas, Oklahoma State, and Georgetown are a few of the programs that have invested quite a bit of time recruiting Evans. However, during Monday’s interview with JayhawkSlant.com, “Kool-Aid” made it perfectly clear that three programs, at least at this stage, have separated themselves from the pack. “Kansas already offered Dennis and he’s considering Kansas,” he said. “He’s considering Kansas heavy. He’s considering Kansas heavy, as well as Minnesota and TCU. Those are probably the three main schools. After this weekend, Chris Beard (Texas) was at the game the other day. They offered him and they made it very clear, them and Oklahoma State, that they would come. Georgetown has definitely been on him. "The funny part is, maybe only one West Coast school is really recruiting him,” he added. “That school is San Diego State. Listen, like I said, Dennis is a kid who is intelligent, grounded and it's not about the NIL with him. It's about the coaching and can you coach? kansas.rivals.com/news/five-star-big-man-dennis-evans-has-scheduled-an-official-visit-to-kansasGuessing that may not bode so well for us. Hmm, Bill Self or Patrick Ewing, Bill Self or Patrick Ewing, let me think. Rivals spoke with a source close to Dennis Evans on Wednesday evening, and the programs recruiting the five-star center the hardest right now are Minnesota, TCU, Kansas, San Diego State and Texas, with others coming to the table as well. Whichever program lands the 7-foot-1 big man will potentially have him on the roster for at least two seasons, as he will be too young to enter the 2024 NBA Draft. Visits are the next order of business for Evans, and that should give everyone more clarity on the pecking order in his recruitment. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/recruiting-roundup-dennis-evans-dravyn-gibbs-lawhorn-assane-diop

Michael Nwoko, a 6-foot-10 center, announced an Oklahoma State offer Wednesday, as the Cowboys join a growing list of schools after his services. OSU assistant Larry Blunt has ties to Canada. He was an instrumental piece in founding Orangeville Prep, a top basketball school in Ontario. Nwoko is one of the last four-star prospects in the composite rankings. He is the No. 133 player in those rankings, ranking 27th among centers in the class. His stock has risen the past few months, though. On May 9, Nwoko was considered the No. 189 player in the country. Nwoko boasts offers from Texas A&M, Houston, Tennessee, Georgetown, NC State, Northwestern, Providence, Georgia Tech, Creighton and others. pistolsfiringblog.com/oklahoma-state-offers-four-star-canadian-big-man-michael-nwoko/Class of 2023 center Michael Nwoko announced his top nine on Thursday night, listing UCLA men's basketball alongside eight other contenders. NC State, Northwestern, Providence, Georgia Tech, Cal, Vanderbilt, Maryland and Miami (FL) are the other schools that have remained in contention for Nwoko's eventual commitment. Boston College, Creighton, East Carolina, Georgetown, Georgia Tech, Harvard, High Point, Houston, North Carolina A&T, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Seton Hall, Siena, South Florida, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest had all sent Nwoko offers in the past, but they are on the outside looking in at the moment. www.si.com/college/ucla/mens-basketball/class-of-2023-center-michael-nwoko-puts-ucla-mens-basketball-in-top-9

While a visit to Lincoln by Eli Rice on July 31 was rather under the radar, it’s a safe bet that his commitment to the Nebraska basketball program is generating some buzz today. That’s because Rice is just the second commitment for Fred Hoiberg‘s 2023 class. Despite not being recognized as a “blue-chipper” at the moment, the Cornhuskers did manage to steal Rice away from at least one other big-name program in Georgetown. The guard also had offers from St. Bonaventure, Murray State, VCU, and Rhode Island, amongst others. huskercorner.com/2022/08/10/nebraska-basketball-eli-rice-commitment/
