He just tweeted he got an offer from us and shouted out Nickleberry in the tweet so, this is looking good. Marvel is a great name. Potential NIL goldmine!

Someone is going to have to convince me that everything associated with L$U isn't tainted. Have at it, I'm more than willing to listen.

Every school is tainted. So what.
Improve the program.

I don't doubt that most of LSU is dirty but if we are getting transfer they have already been paid. I don't think anyone would expect to get a 2nd payday....in all seriousness, I don't think we lost out on recruits because of schools paying. I feel like we lost out because GTown just isn't considered a destination for winning. I think if we can use this Nickelberry hiring to get our first round of big time recruits we will get a continuous uptick in recruiting. Good players want to play with other good players and good players lead to winning.

Folks have different lines they wouldn’t cross. NIL makes things dynamic.

Someone is going to have to convince me that everything associated with L$U isn't tainted. Have at it, I'm more than willing to listen. I'll bite. The public perception was that Nickelberry was brought in to LSU because he was considered on the "up and up" and he could lend credibility to a staff that was under heavy scrutiny for impropriety. The fact that after Wade's firing he was the assistant they chose to name as interim tells you that their internal investigation didn't show him being involved in any chicanery. To play Devils advocate - he was the lead recruiter for several LSU players (who are now rumored to be Gtown leans) where the prevailing sentiment was that they ended up at LSU over 💰. Obviously these 2 separate statements don't jive particularly well with each other. I'm guessing the truth lies somewhere in between. But I would hope it would bring some comfort to those worried about what this means in terms of Georgetowns willingness to play in the mud - that at LSU where it was ripe with under the table dealings, Nickelberry has not gotten labeled with the stench of impropriety as Wade and other assistants there have.

Idrc especially with NIL and the moral high road doesn’t get wins. And if he was the lead recruiter on Reid, then I can’t imagine he’s totally clean but whatever. But we did really need a legit DMV recruiter and we are seeing that possibly pay off immediately and in 2023 already

If the NCAA “didn’t care,” Will Wade would still be coaching. Sure, it probably took too long, but you just can’t say that there are no repercussions.

Would you have been ok if GU hired Rick Pitino? This is where you clearly don’t get it. The problem with Pitino goes so far past allegedly paying players.

I’m not going to get into their long history of spotty and selective enforcement but you are right, at times someone goes too far and they can’t look the other way.

Doesn’t this stuff come down to the integrity of the head coach?

We already know that LSU is guilty, so Nickelberry starts with a strike against him. But that's why I said I'm willing to listen. See my next post.

Well, maybe. At least there is some rationality here, as opposed to the everyone else cheats, so we should too position. I'm not sure his being named the interim coach necessarily tells us much, as someone had to be interim coach. Do you have knowledge that Nickelberry was hired for the reason you suggest, or is that just speculation?
