Back in Spring of 2004, I played in a charity golf outing in San Diego. The pro for our foursome was Drew Brees. The outing was shortly after (maybe even week following the NFL Draft weekend) that the Chargers used their first round pick to draft Philip Rivers.
I remember that everyone wanted a piece of Drew as he had not spoken publicly since the draft. Our foursome spoke to him during the round that day, and he was absolutely unfazed by the Rivers pick. He had no intention of giving up his starting role. It was completely credible. I am not surprised in the least that he is still playing in the NFL today.
I would recommend the same mentality to Jamarko. It is your job. Keep it.

It’s simple. Way better and consistent team defense and rebounding.

It’s simple. Way better and consistent team defense and rebounding. Also time to recognize that we need some shooters--not scorers, but kids who can make 40% of their perimeter shots. We have one returning in Akinjo (39%).

We have one returning in Akinjo (39%). I think Mac, Blair, Pickett, Carter, & Yurtseven can be those guys. The 3 was not a good way to win last night with the added distance. Both teams were consistently coming up short. Govan getting dominated by a 6'7 center didn't help either.

Keep pounding that recruiting trail. It is a long-term project.
