I was at this game. Davis is the real deal. Reminds me of Akinjo; he scores a ton - he led the CHSAA AA Division in scoring, which says something. Big drop off between he and Griffin and everyone else on the team. Okay I know it's an RJ Davis thread but since the Hoyas offered Griffin today - check out this ridiculous dunk by Griffin during the game off a Davis miss. The dunk is left handed. Griffin is right handed. Griffin needs his own thread.

Would love to lock him in early. The Hoyas were in pretty early on Davis and it seemed like they were in a strong spot, and maybe they still are, but it sounds like his recruitment is picking up steam from all over the country. He keeps playing like has been recently, and then has an impressive AAU season, he is going to get even more attention and will likely attract some of the blue bloods. Hopefully he appreciates that the staff identified him early and have been very involved with him since, but you can't blame a young kid for betting on himself and checking out all of his options.

We have little info to go on, but Pat did make a quick offer and got the kid to DC to see the Nova game. That's big. Now Coach followed up with an offer to his teammate, Adrian Griffin Jr. Hoyas are all over these kids. For extra credit, can you name another prominent Hoya who graduated from Stepinac?

Can't say for sure he is the only one since, but a fairly prominent, old time Hoya played at Stepinac. Jessie Sapp was from Harlem. Stepinac is in Westchester Co., just north of NYC. Was a terrific Hoya though and had a good game v UNC in 2007! I'll wait a little longer before the reveal

Love that he always gets a bunch of rebounds and assists too, not just a scorer. Fills the box score.
Ewing has been ahead of the curve on several guys now. Sure seems like he has a great eye for recruiting. Bodes well.

#33 on Hoya top 100, Art White. Ding Ding Ding Ding! We have a WINNER! Artie White played so long ago, he even pre-dates Patrick Ewing. Not the coach, the player. In fact, Artie also came before JT - the dad, not JT3 Artie was an extremely athletic player who was our leading scorer in his first year on the team. Back then, freshmen were not eligible, so he was a sophomore on the famous 1970 team that reached the post season for the first time in ages. Hoyas played in the NIT back when it really meant something. Only 16 teams were invited to the NCAA tournament at that time. The next sixteen when to the older NIT. GU played a marquis matchup with Pete Maravich's team. Pete was the absolutely incredible player - one of the most outrageously athletic and talented of all time - a 6'5 guard with magic handles. He is still the all time leading D1 scorer @ 44.2 ppg. Was drafted # 3 in the first round. GU held Maravich to his second lowest point total ever in a near upset in the NIT's first round. Artie White was GU's leading scorer that season, averaging 15.1 PPG, and 8.9 RPG Sadly, Artie only played two years -- I think he ran into some academic issues. He liked to party and the girls went crazy for the 6'7 Forward. OK... returning from the time machine. I have not seen R.J. Davis play, but from all I read, the video clips and the intense interest from Patrick Ewing, I hope he ends up a Hoya! And that he brings his buddy Griffin Jr with him.

Artie was a good guy, but he never went to class. He was in my world history class, and the first time I saw him was at the final. He actually walked by me to take a seat. I looked up (and up) at him, and said, Artie, you're in this class? And he just started laughing.
