Well, if you wanted to find the next James Akinjo, this guy certainly has the same style game and attributes.

If Stepinac has all this talent on their team, why are they 11-15 overall and 7-10 in the league? They appear to have Alpha Bangura's son on the team as well to go with Adrian Griffin's son. Point guards like quarterbacks are judged on wins and losses. I'm not saying the kid is not a winner, but I'd say further inspection as to why they've lost so much should be looked into. I didn't know their record was so bad. Yikes! Griffin was out for about 5 weeks and missed most of the season. I'm sure that had an effect. It doesn't look like he's been fully healthy all year.

Last year they won the whole thing. The other guard has been hurt too that is being recruited by Manhattan who is a 3 year starter. Hard to win when you are by yourself in a talented league where the teams are recruited.

Akinjo is built RJ looks like 150 lbs soaking wet which when you watch how much contact he finishes thru more amazing. Watching him shooting over Moses Brown and Kofi Cockburn is impressive with his array of floaters.

The kid is just a junior in high school, so color me impressed. And by the time he's here, James will still only be a Junior. Doesn't seem like there would be too much on his shoulders from Day 1

He'll look even more like James by then. Same type of underlying skill sets.

Maybe a smoother stroke than James.

Maybe a smoother stroke than James. More than maybe. This kid can score based off the limited amount of videos available. That step back jumper and the mid range floater are especially impressive. I don't think he will be able to finish as well at the rim in the Big East but he looks pretty good there too. Not too many highlights of him distributing the ball so can't comment or maybe he is just more of a scorer. Imagine if Akinjo had that floater...

Jamaica, Queens is not a pretty place to spend four years. I live in Queens actually, about 15 minutes from St. John's. Let's just say wow do I miss my time in DC. I am biased since I grew up in the DMV area and went to school for 8 years at gtown but jeez. RJ, come to DC, you won't regret it. You get diversity, culture, and great food on your doorstep. I dread the minimum 45 min commute to get to Manhattan.

To the posters questions about the teams record - in addition to the injuries, the league is pretty tough. Three years ago Stepinac had Jordan Tucker, now at Butler, and Aundre Hyatt, now at LSU, both starting - and had a losing record. Last year Stepinac won the Federation title in NY - the entire state, they won the AA Catholic title, then beat the public winner, then beat a prep school. They did lose a starter who is now at Illinois.

Can't imagine that Penn State has a real shot here, it is likely they will have a coaching change this off season. Seton Hall has had a better year this year than most expected, but it would seem that Georgetown would be a more attractive landing spot at this point, but who knows what is attractive to teenage kids. Davis is an exciting and talented player so hopefully the Hoyas can close the deal on him. would not be the worst thing if they could get an early '20 commitment.

Seton Hall probably is more there for AJ Griffin being his father is an all-time great there. he is a 5 star player for 2021.

Look like his recruitment is blowing up now. He was an unranked 3-star and the 41st PG on rivals. Not for much longer.
